Ah yes, retro rides from home. Kind of makes me think I should nip home for a weekend to check out the local retro rides, now that the nicer weather is forcing them out of the garages. Best make sure mine will pass the MOT too. Its due next month.

you've got a massive oil leak, and a bald tyre, I'll whack them 16v alloys on there for you, and we'll get that shock sorted, should be ok with some hylomar. Other than that, your car is running sweet, pulls like a train, goes like a rolly go kart, sounds lovely at full chat.

Oh, ok. Is the tyre completely illegal now? May have to purchase a set of front shocks, or get those gas ones I saw. Where is the oil leak? (Best not be the cam cover gasket again, thats bgecome a real pain in the buttocks.) Ta for the update.

That 240Z (?) is really nice I can almost hear that straight six sucking through those Jenvey throttle bodies - I really like the sound of a nice big six pot P.S; Drew - what car do you own? is it suitably retro?

Derby Dan, my bro (drew) own a 1962 hornet, and a VW jetta MKII (small bumper of course) with a fabulous scrap yard find weber.
Will soon be lowered over gas shocks, and have a decent exhaust if we can get the cash together.
Benz Boy, as the car is so new, a lot of the stuff has been developed on this car, the Box is a custom one, and you are correct, it is glass fibre, the ECU is an emerald system with a custom map (it's the only FI 240 we know of in the UK).
And the sound is just..............hmmmm

I have got a new boxed pair of Monroe Gas Matics that I bought for the Syncro. The Syncro has sealed struts so I could not use them... Be Cheap if you want them ? Cheers Dom *EDIT* Lovely "Z" by the way

Yup, I got me a mk1 Hornet, needs a resto, as its been sat in my leaking garage since about '89. My dad gave it to me, which was nice. Its is painted in a real manly shade of pink too. But seriously, I've got an mg metro 1275 engine and box to replace the suitably shagged 850 my dad blew up before leaving it in the garage.
CR500Dom, are they for a mk2? If so, what figure do ya have in mind? Cheers.

CR500Dom, are they for a mk2? If so, what figure do ya have in mind? Cheers. They are indeed Bought to fit My Mk2 Golf Syncro, but it has non rebuildable struts up front, so these inserts wont fit. They are Brand new and boxed, I gave £20 + Postage for them, be nice to see that back. Could send them or bring them up to Retro Show , unless you are passing Essex sometime soon ? Let me know either way, as they are just sitting in the back of the garage IIRC ;D Cheers Dom

Yeah, the Hornet should be pretty fun to drive when I finally get it done. Just wish mini parts would stop costing more each year.
CR500Dom, Iv'e sent you a message about the shocks. Cheers.
