Interesting little project. I'm a big fan of 'stick and supercharger on it!' as I'm current installing a Eaton 45 into 205 Gti... Always nice to see someone elses take on an install.
Once you get your setup working, you can always improve the design and tailor it more to your requirements.
Mad.

i do have an old mg unit that maybe used in the future, i've put it on the 998 as its such a sweet little motor and i like how they rev compared to a 1275. Thats a good point slater i will keep an eye on it when i mount it all. Thanks for all the comments

I wish you every bit of luck on the install, but I dare not pass comment on the Jonspeed kit now I've seen those close up photos......
Just out of interest how much did the kit cost?

To be far to the Jonspeed kit, there not as expencive as the Vmax scart kit, but is done in a very similar way (jonspeed kit is a rip of the V-max every ones doing these days) I belive the Vmax kit has a extra brace. I belive there inlet manifold is abit thicker. I belive he is working on a way of getting a charge cooler in to help with the intake temp. I have heard of the Carbs iceing up being placed at the front, just somthing to watch out for. I would Highly recommend going to Mega joltz for the ingnition to make the most of you set up. Check out www.turbominis.co.uk theres alot of people on there with superchargers and ignition kits. but really go to Mega joltz. you will get a big diffrence over a dissy thats not matched to the engine.

a grand. ive heard of petrol staying at the bottom on the inlet but people who run them turn the tickover up and this seems to cure it. i have got electronic iginition to go on it too. There was a moggie minor in PPC that was using a supercharger mounted high up but in a blow through arrangement, he was using an intercooler. i' would be tempted in the future in raising the blower up so i could have an intercooler, its just a thought anyway..............mel gibson has alot to answer for!

Unless its programable Electronic igintion it running from a ECU it won't do the job right. the advance curve will be WAY out. I run a highly moded 1380 a-serise in my mini and it took a long time to get a dissy modded for my advance curve. I'm going to MJ over this winter 1 to make space for a front mounted rad and 2 to improve my ignition systerm to keep up with the rest of the engine build. will be £100 very very well spent.

hi , i've had help from my friend from the past 3 days and i've managed to get the gti interior in which was an easy bolt swap, 'm quite pleased with it, almost like it came from the facotry like that. The fuel pump is wired in and working although i had a bit trouble with my earth. Today we ripped the head off changed the head bolts put the decompression plate on, swapped the tappet chest covers around, and put the bottom pully on. After my tea i got straight back on with it, now i put the exhaust manifold on just for mock up and that was fine, then the charger. The charger was fowling the heater so i heated the the heater up with a blow torch and bent it in wards and that was sorted, its still a close but i think i'll get away with it. But i've hit a bigger snag, the water pump hose's are going to be in the way of the charger belt, i tried a couple of different configuations but it looks like I'm gonna have to get some pipe and rubber u-bends to sort this hiccup, but hopefully after a scrounge round my local scrapyard i should have it sorted.

Good luck with sorting that out!
TBH, I prefer the original seats because they go with the rest of the trim.
