I was supposed to be selling this on behalf of a friend, but after starting it up as people were asking if it runs, I had too much fun and decided to buy it! Only problem is that the drivers side rear window has been smashed as my friend lost his keys... I couldn't justify buying it, so I've bought it for my girlfriend as her first car Love the interior 1.4 powAR! Plans... not a lot. Replace the smashed glass and cracked windscreen! Edit: I removed those nasty wheel caps.

I have something to add to your list!
Remove those horrible horrible wheel trims to reveal some quite attractive XS steels (I hope...).

Cool, I really like these - my mate's got a low mileage one that I keep bugging to buy off him ;D
Whats the 'crack' with them - are they basically the UK version of the Rallye? (though i'm sure i've seen 205 Rallyes in this country?)

(though i'm sure i've seen 205 Rallyes in this country?) The Euro Rallye was fitted with the 1294cc TU24 engine, which was iron block with a lumpy cam, large valves and twin 40s as standard. It was made from 1987 to 1992. The XS was built from 1986 to 1992, originally with a 60bhp 1360 iron XY engine, then with the all alloy 1360cc, 80bhp TU3S engine. Not overly popular because it wasnt quite the performance car of the GTi, but also not as economical etc as the base models. The UK Rallye Special was produced from 1990-1992 (i think!) as a tribute to the Euro Rallye, but with the 75bhp, iron block TU3 engine. It was a limited edition (500 white and 500 yellow I think.....).

Quite glad I got it really. I've got a stupid amount of BMWs, and just before I bought my daily e30 318is, I very nearly bought a 1.6gti. It was only because I got my E30 for a stupid price that I stuck with BMWs. In other words, its very nice to have a change

I have an entire exhaust system for one of these, minus the back box. If you need it, you can have it for nought if you can collect it. I also have a new brake master cylinder available.
Really great cars and should be cheap to insure too. A 4-2-1 manifold works really well on these engines.

Thanks for the offer, I'll remember that if it needs one . Adam's got some glass for it too, so thats another thing sorted. By the time she will be in a position to learn, she'll be 24 so the insurance wouldn't be as bad if she was 17. The only other cars I can offer her to learn in are my E30 318is, my E21 318is or my defender 90! Fingers crossed insurance won't be a joke. If it is, well I guess I'll have to keep it for myself Cheers for the comments.

They are actually pretty cheap on insurance - appear to have been overlooked by insurance companies as they fly! Categorically NOTHING better on the lanes! Get some big Spotlights on there and go and have some night c road fun! (At legal, responsible speeds obviously)

Rob, do you want a standard airbox system?
You might find it drives better with it unless it's beed rejetted at some point.

That the UK didn't get the 205 Rallye - only 106s in Rallye flavour. But living near a Peugeot dealer I was positive I had seen them.... the yellow ones in particular stand out [thinking out loud]So these TU3S engines are basically the same as the Saxo VTR lump... you can fit a GTi6 16v engine into a Saxo - therefore into a 205/106 or even an AX...... very interesting [/thinking out loud] Edit; to correct curse word spelling
