hey folks, thought as a new member i'd say hi and show you a few pics of my rides, my name is lloyd and i co-own retro-fit customs in sunny devon, i've always had a bit of a thing for dubs and the workshop has given me the perfect excuse to build a few projects, this time last year i was driving an '88 mk2 jetta gti that looked like this.....
after the jetta i had an urge for something a bit cooler, lower and different (just my opionion
) and when i stumbled across a mk3 polo coupe ('94 1.3cl) dirt cheap i couldn't resist !
somebody made me a ridiculous offer for the polo as soon as it was on the road which forced me to drag my mk1 caddy pickup ('88 1.6d) out of storage and set about rebuilding it ! I drove it as a rolling project for a while, then fitted a tuned mk2 golf gtd engine, then stripped it down ready for bodywork and respray !

So that left me without a ride, again ! Luckily for me a friend of mine knew i was on the look out and one day whilst he was at work (up a pylon
) he spotted, in his own words, an old brown vw, which turned out to be a metallic sand '81 polo gls. It was going for a song so i snapped it up and put it straight in for mot, one wiper blade later and it had 12 months ticket !!!!
so here she is completely standard for now (i added the roof rack)
She's a 1.1 and has done 58k miles from new with only 2 owners ! the plans are to use it as a funky daily driver until my caddy is finished, i'm gonna put these on.....
once i've sprayed the centers satin black and fitted some 175/50/13's (for the record they are compo ms's 13x7 et-7)
then i suppose it would be rude not to lower her.....maybe some german pressed plates......but nothing else....honest !
