Looking for a high end radio cassette player from the 1980's period. A top-of-the-range stereo from one of the big boys is ideal.... Sony, Blaupunkt, Alpine etc etc. Definately has to be 80's, and if its a nice looking thing in mint condition that would be just tubular W.H.Y Retro Riders?

If you've got lots and lots of money go looking for a Nakamichi TD-1200! I'd love one, but I'm not rich enough.

How much are they then? I have a Blaupunkt original 80s amplifier taken from a Mercedes 1983 500SEC if u want it? I am after a late 80s Blaupunkt Toronto tape deck at the minute if there is one out there!

The TD1200 cost well over £2000 back in the late 80s/ early 90s but you can get hold of them nowadays for about £400 or so

Damn! I forgot to get back to you!
Right, I have a top of the line Kenwood radio cassette from '86 that is full logic and has a separate amp....It was the top of the '86 range line up......Its in pretty good condition and in full working order (even comes with a security blanking cover)
Ill take a piccy today for you!
Ive also got a Blaupunkt Berlin IQR85 which again would have been top of the range in '85 (they cost a whopping £1125 back then) but it needs recoding and that costs £60 to have done!
Ive a very old Alpine radio cassette too which is from about '85 but its missing the surround trim!
Ill get some pics for you!

Hmm. Odd candidate but - I'll be pulling the Bose 'Gold' stereo from my C4 soon. Expensive factory option kit. They're funny beasties - each speaker has it's own amplifier and the HU puts out a signal to these amps. It's 1.5 DIN size so a little larger than usual - has a tape deck and radio tuner. 4 4" speakers, I think, each with their own enclosures containing the amp. One of the amps need new capacitors and maybe a resistor or two to bring them to full working order but it's only probably a quids worth of parts and ten minutes of soldering I'm not sure which bits I will and won't be keeping though (just thinking of the grills/mounts mostly). Anyway, thought I'd throw that in as a random candidate Looks like: Funny beastie! Probably a bit big for your application though Sound ace when they're working properly, mind! $773 dollar option and I have the original invoice and recipt too

Thanks Lewis! Looks a nice bit of kit but alas it's a bit too big for my dash. Cheers anyway!
