Following last weeks "What can I do with a Polo" Thread, guess what I just spent twenty of my new decimal poundage on?
D-reg, square back, two-door, 1043 cubic centimetres of tarmac melting torque, with a months MOT and a months Tax. ;D ;D ;D Just using it as a runabout whilst I put V's Nova and my 924 through the MOT.

Congrats on the new runabout.
Personally I think they're going to be the next VW 'craze' as theres certainly a LOT of chatter on various forums as to the coolness of these cars.

Just put £100.00 aside for a new fuel tank if it hasn't had one recently it'll probably need one soon, we've got three of them sat in our compound all with rusted out tanks and corrosion around the rear arch area where the mud sits and doesn't get cleaned off

Funny you should say that! the guy I got it from thought it might have some corrosion on the fuel tank. I was just going to P40 it and then use good old bitumen to cover!

they're all the same - mk2s and mk3s go through fuel tanks like they're made of, erm, something substandard. alfa-romeo steel perhaps not a great deal from GSF though. My G40 one was getting a bit suspect, couldn't put more than £20 petrol in it or it'd smell bad 'roccos are the same, the filler necks rust and leave massive chunks of rusty metal in the bottom of the tank, ready to strangle your filter.
