Here's more of the goodness of the internet for you and your gratification.
Sorry its light on photos. Feel free to append your own.
www.hairstonmotorsports.com home of harcore Camaro.
www.jametalworks.com head over to the projects section...
www.outlawracing.com - not sure if I haven't linked to these guys before, but these are some of the wildest street legal race cars in the USA. Some fast stuff, some proper wheels-up action.
www.justicebrothers.com - what a name, "the Justice Brothers". Sound like some superhero crime fighters from the 1950s, but its another fine looking museum of motor racing in the US. Lots of old spint cars, midgets, etc. Also sell a line of car car products.
www.DIYautotune.com - EFI for the budget conscious. Builders and tuners of megasquirts and the like. They are the power behind Jim Neuenfeldt’s Ford Fairmont Turbo beastie – a car I was going to use to illustrate this thread but sadly I couldn’t fid a photo online of it (not that I looked very hard).
EDIT: I'm blind. Its here: www.diyautotune.com/cars/customer/parish_fairmont.htm
www.howell-efi.com - yes, EFI conversions again. these guys have converted everything from world war 2 DUKW "duck" amphibious vehicles to modern race cars. I'm into the Ducks myself. Always wanted one of them when I was a kid. "when I grow up I'll...." Closest I got was a GI Joe plastic one which was a bit battered hand me down and almost the right size for Action Man to use.
Everybody is into special editions and anniversaries at the moment, Edelbrock are in on the act. You can now get their heads, intakes and the like in special NASCAR limited edition. This is no additional performance benefit but the stuff comes in a slick black finish rather than the usual cast or polished options. Looks well hard core. Check out the product range on www.edelbrock.com
Chrysler's new Hemi seems to be the toast of the town right now. Especially now people like www.xvmotorsports.com are offering carburettor and stand alone ECU packages to make these lumps more DIY friendly and to assist in packaging them in older cars. However for some people the only Hemi is the original Hemi and for these people there is www.hothemiheads.com
Now we all wish we had the skillzorz to use photoshop to try out different colour schemes and the like for our projects, House of Kolor has an easier (they say) option to use. Their digital paint booth has 180+ different cars preloaded and allows you to try any of the cool HOK paints out using your PC rather than your paint gun. Its not a cheap bit of software, but if you are into that sort of thing its going to be cool. www.HOKdigitalpaintbooth.com
Worth a look in on is www.whygosixty.com which describes itself as "High speed, high performance auto & truck news, new auto and truck products, exclusive car photos, auto events & more." - whatever. However its got some interesting news snippets and other junk from the US and round the world of motoring. Its the sort of place I drop into, steal their strories and pass them off like I know whats going down. Fake like I do...
Now, the next two are US based companies so shipping would be a killer on these products but I see their adverts in a lot of the US mags and I like to drool over some of the tools and toys therein. Theres obviously suppliers of this stuff in the UK, my cousin-in-law has a garage workshop full of this stuff at home for his model making hobby. drool away:
www.woodwardfab.com www.smithy.com
and lastly, a tool we can all use I'm sure... Not seen anything quite like this in the UK tool catalogues, which suggests that either they don't do 'em (unlikely?) or that I've been looking in the wrong catalogues. More likely. The Pipemaster allows for fast easy accurate cutting of metal tube/pipe - ideal for fabbing up anything from exhausts to roll cages to whatever tubular concoctions your mind can come up with. www.pipemastertools.com
