Riding to town the other day on my bike, I spied something rather large and shiny in the grass verge. A chrome (or at least chrome look) truck hubcap. Naturally I wanted it. Random shiny car part I have no real use for whatsoever? How could I resist?. Not being able to carry it whilst riding, I stopped on my way to work the next morning (in the rain no less) and ran down the road to get it, looking like a total tool probably. My thoughts then turned to "What can I do with it? I know, its big and round, I'll make a clock". Took it to work today, drilled a hole, cut up a tesco value clock and viola!: Complete with pictures of cars and a subway ring. Its a bit loud though, the large, tinny nature of the thing does a good job of amplifying the ticking. Might hang my subway ring from it as well since it kind of looks out of place on a german car.

Yeah. I had a look on ebay before going to tesco. They cost about £3 with delivery IIRC. They looked a bit small to me so I got a clock that was a similar size. Tesco value clocks are about £1. I got one that was £5 since it was a bit bigger.

Yeah, I think you get what you pay for with clock mechanisms. Nothing like a massive big clock

To (sort of) quote some rapper "Everyones gonna be wearin clocks on their car so they know what TIME it is mofo!"
If I could fit some sort of weight and spinner system to it so that it would stay the right way up at all times, I would so do it! Kind of like the ones they have on Rolls Royces for the wheel logo. And Somerfield lorries! Took the wind out of Rolls Royces sails!

Way ahead of you! I hung it from underneath right after I took the picture. Doesn't swing like a pendulum though. Shame...
