I decided to loose the gold, My aim now is to get the 7"s on the rear for next weekend. so I've got some machining to do this week. I got a tenners worth of part worn 155/70's fitted to the sevens earlier in the week when I had a new tyre at my friendly local fitters.

That yellow one is the shizz, however those particular arches are about eleventy billion pounds a set. I might invest in a set of universals, just to see how it looks.

I'm so happy to see one of these micras being tackled, they're one of my favourite modern (to me at any rate) cars. I like that you're doing some pretty insane things but keeping it simple at the same time and those wing mirrors are a HUGE improvement.
Do you know what you should do with the Slots? You should polish the rims, paint the middles black (like you have already) and do the back and the inserts (that are usually done red) in a turquoise to match the bodywork.
Oh, and I really liked when you had the Nissan hubs on the slots right at the start of this thread, I liked the way they sort of floated in the middle of the wheel and were so different to usual Slotmag treatment... If you did go back to that, paint the hubcaps turquoise with a black Nissan logo in the centre, would be an excellent optional extra.
Wish I knew of a cheap solution for Speedles suggestion, that would look awesome on this little car.
I'll slap a bookmark on this build, I like it.

Get some Group 2 arches from the Mini scene. They'd fit nicely I reckon.
My sis had a K11 Super S in white, I learnt to drive in it and I loved that car. 1.3 16v went like stink for a little car. Dave

I had a little play with the car today. I made a subtle change. Before, After, I took another coil off the front - thats 3.5 off the front and just over half of of the rear - so I suppose they are at about 2.75 off. I also wired both ends of the front springs into the cups because I was never happy with just the tops wired. I have made up some droop straps for the rear, so now that end stays nicely located when jacked up as well. With the car's weight on the suspension: Its close to the exhaust on the off side, but i've now tied it out of the way with a cable tie, if the suspension was unloaded the cable tie would break and support the axle like so: On the inside: The straps are fixed through the boot floor, not ideal, but the fixing point is very close to the chassis rail each side in thhe corner formed by a cross member so its nice and strong, with the big washers spreading the load nicely. While working I wondered if side pipes and a brake light on the axle is the way I should be going with this? [/QUOTE]

What's that welded box section up in the top left Ryan?
Cheers Rob.
Speedle I'm not convinced I've entered the world of awesome yet, but thanks.
As funky as it would be volksangel, this one is saying the same height at both ends. Oh and I think that using body colour in the slots or on the OEM hub caps would be a bit too fussy. There was a van in one of Samm's threads a while back that had painted slots, with the edge of the slot polished, thats something I might try to add some detail to the wheels.

well, I do like my fussy fiddly stuff, must be my trad goth roots coming through again I just like to spread the ideas about, see what other builders are thinking and sometimes spark an idea or two in their heads. I'm still amazed at how different your Micra looks with some really simple tweaks to the styling. I also keep thinking the indicator on the wing is a giant jelly tot, but that's probably because I've been going a bit mad from being housebound this week.

I liked how you'd managed to colour code your exhaust to the car that would park next to you ;D
