	Well spurred on by messing about with the fold up bike I did a usual drunk bid on ebay and won a BMX down the road for £5: It's a Townsend Katana or something, know nothing about BMXs but will have a go. I'm fairly sure it may need a saddle and some air in the tyres so far! Not sure about these fancy swivell front brake thingy on the tube, never played with one before. Back when I was in short trousers they had normal brake and you just didn't turn around all the way. What's the the best way of cleaning pitting off chrome anyone?

	If teh Chrome has a chance, Solvol Autosol or Brasso is one idea, used it before, don't know if theres owt better. Townsend are like cheap kids bikes but at a £iver thats not bad at all, and its got the look of the old skool freestyle bikes, so could be a cunning old skool style bike witha few choice bits. Pull that Giro spinner off if ya don't want it, big crazy cable instead.

	Well I've had a play and ended up with this, ditching the spinner as you said, and ditching pretty much everything. Went for a quick ride and nearly ran over a dog and a cat so thing I may have to add a rear brake. It's fun though!

	just jam your foot in between the wheel and frame, skid to a stop. thats real retro skills! looks nice! change the wheels and tyres to something chunkier or more plastic perhaps?

	Ive got a similar bike. Think its early 90s. May say on the steerer tube of the forks. But thats inside the frame Looks like the seat post is very bent above the frame. You'll need a sidepull brake. They come in different lengths. Be a 1000 which means it has a reach of 100mm from the hole in the frame to the side of the rim.
