went to look at an Audi S2 Avant last night.... mate from work has found one, stolen/recovered and it needs some panel work but engine/interior/shell/glass ok. god they look awesome! helps that this one is uber-uber-cheap, even spending a couple of K on repairing it it'll be a couple of K short again of the going rate. mmmmmm........ S2

if it's a Cat D or Cat C writeoff, which most stolen/recovered cars are, then it can be returned to the road with just a new MoT. Cat D is usually ones that have been missing for so long they're assumed stripped, C is for damaged but repairable.
Cats A and B are for cars that should be stripped for spares and crushed, not allowed back on the road.
my 90 quattro was a Cat D s/r, the buyer even HPi'ed it when i flogged it on, no problems. all i had to do was MoT it when i bought it, even though there was still 4 months left on the old certificate.
