I never even realised scaletrix had suspension :-) Some of the more recent cars had springs and shocks, but I'm fairly sure the older ones didn't. I do remember a friend of mine had a really old set that had steering front wheels though, always fancied retro fitting that to one.

Most of the Airfix/MRRC slot cars had steering front wheels, lotus cortina, Mini Cooper, E Type, Mk3 Zodiac, MG1100, Sunbeam Rapier, etc etc

Do the steering front wheels actually do anything or is it just for show? Doubtful. The cars rest on the guides/brushes. Actually, I've just remembered that some of the new F1 replicas had steerable wheels too.
