et cetera... = That's a CMoy-style headphone amp. Coupled with an iRiver h140 and Beyerdynamic DT931s, you get a DAP setup that, while it is a bit bulky, can barely be bettered in terms of sound quality. ;D *n

Why do you need that? Funny impedance on the headphones or something? I like the idea though, I have officially nicked it. Shame I threw out all the old tobacco tins when my grandpa died, I could have micro'd some stuff into them for in the car.

250 Ohms.
^_^
But letting the amp 'take the strain' compared to the player makes them sound so much better. Basically, it lets the headphones sound at their best.

That makes sense. With impedance that high you'll have the mp3 player up really high to get any sound out of them at all. I just spotted the debate on OcUK. Comedy mate, comedy ;D

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Awesome choice of cans there Sir!
I bought a set of Beyers about three years ago, they are fantastic.
My dad's still got some mid-70's cream Boots Audio cans with individual volume sliders on each earpiece. They are as uncomfortable as hell but still work fine...even if they do sound shooooite. ;D

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.
