A mate of mine at work built this over 10 years ago.
It took around a year on and off and it still hasnt been on its maiden voyage yet!
The main body is made from 1.2mm Ali and as you can see in the pics,the rudder assembly and spoiler is out of stainless steel.
The acrylic windows had to be softend up in the paint shop oven to make them match the body shape before being bonded in place.
He's taken it to a few model shows and was impressed with the attention it got.
The main problem he's going to have with it (according to the feedback he's had) is the weight factor. The stainless spoiler is just for show really so that can be taken off,but apart from that,there isnt much else he can take off it.
There's only one way to find out i suppose,so we're going to take it to one of the local canals and see what happens.
We thought about taking it to the pond in the local park at batley where the battery powered boats go but i don't think the ducks would take kindly to a screaming 2 stroke chasing em around. ;D
