Got these off the faithful freecycle few weeks back. Yamaha CDX496 and a KX393. Nice, but seems to stuggle ( ATM ! ) with home made burns on cheap media......obviously has expensive tastes.

Good acquisition! Are people really chucking that kind of stuff out?! If so I think I must get into Freecycle, got a big shed at the (hopeful) new house which will be perfect for a load of separates. Having said, that the Pioneer kit I’ve had since 1989 is still going strong and will probably end up out there.
I know squit about it, but there’s something very appealing to me about the look of separates, especially if they’re black and understated.

I still have a Pioneer midi system that i bought when i was 13 years old from my mums catalouge. Cost me my pocket money for two years (well it was 1200 quid back in 1989 ) Still works perfectly and has never let me down, shame they don't make anything that good anymore will have to get some pics up

With the same lot I got a late '70's LEAK amp and an 80's NAD turntable, and some wolfedale diamond II speakers ! The amp, speakers and CD player are going to be our new lounge hi fi ( once I can teach my son not to put yogurt/tea/turds etc into them. )
