Spotted this rather sorry looking original ClodBuster sitting in the corner down my local tip - on closer inspection apart from a wrecked shell & tyres that were perished & split - the rest of the classic monster truck is complete & in decent condition, it even had a 27mhz Futaba reciever & servos still fitted. So £2 lighter (& feeling like a Womble) I was the proud owner ;D Plans for it is to give a good clean/re-build - get some new tyres & fit/paint a new 'interesting' bodyshell I'll keep this thread updated with its progress

Awesome! I always wanted a clodbuster when I was younger, but could never justify it as all my cash went on my racing r/c cars. You can get some great stuff from the States for them, do a search for Clodzilla and take inspiration from there!

Awesome. I once piloted a Clodbuster with a 4 year old child in the pick up bed head on into a Hornet. My Hornet. Squish. For both.

Thats a brilliant find! Like Westfields its a pre-lit model with the Chevy badge moulded into the grill & 'Chevrolet' written on the tailgate - these parts apparently being desirable Well, Its two Retro R/C cars in one week, a mate who is emmigrating has passed this into my custody - a Mardave Maurader 1/8th IC off roader This one needs no more than a good clean up & maybe some new fuel pipe - mind you i'm not sure how the engine is going to run, if at all - that glow fuel is corrosive stuff & this model hasn't been run for years?

Yeah - on searching the web for some new tyres i've come across some incredible contraptions :o8-) I've got a thread on RaceChat on this at the moment in the Crawlers section [ftp]http://www.rcracechat.com/vb/showthread.php?t=39626[/ftp]

Dan, ive got a spare petrol engine and exhaust, might fit the marauder, tenner if you want them.
EDIT: Sorry that I'm charging for them, they cost me more than that, and they're HPI (Good make) so i cant let them go for free. Sorry mate.

Ha ha don't be sorry fella - I know it seems i'm such a cheapscape ;D £10 sounds very reasonable for your engine. The engine in the Marauder is a .21 Irvine ABC - i'm guessing your HPI engine is probably a .15 - so might be a bit small. Anyway i'm gonna see how it goes first - my friend said it was last ran about three years ago, so might be ok? I know when I was into planes I was always very careful to run loads of Reddex through the engines if I knew it was going to be stored for a while I'm guessing my friend wasn't so carefull?

Okay mate, thats fine, if you want the motor and exhaust, give me a bell it'll stay here if you don't want it, i bought it for my nitro car but no longer need it. And that clodbuster looks quite Cool, ive got a monster beetle which i think is basically the same?
Also, if your chucking that shell away, could you please save the glass and supercharger? The glass could be put on ebay and i'd happily take the charger off your hands, would look good on my R/C project.

i know what you mean about the manufacturers logo's on tamiyas, the Blackfoot body i don't use looks like an F100 and has the ford badges on it, the later one i do use is an "aproximation" of an F100 without the Ford badges. lol

Not much movement on the Clod or Marauder i'm afraid. The Clodbuster is partially dismantled & I've started cleaning up some of the parts, i've also brought a new set of tyres, battery pack & some reinforced stabiliser parts off e'bay I've also got a new bodyshell for it, that i'll need to spray, cutout & mount In other R/C news, i've been doing some bodyshells for the race cars.... This one I did for a friend at our local club (shown still with the window masks & isn't cut-out) This Alfa 156 I've just done for myself to go on my new 1-10th electric touring car racer Hope you like
