Me and Metro (rich) both had the day off so we decided to take inspiration from the other bikes on here and see what we could come up with in just one day. So start with this... Strip down the and take an angler grinder to the front Bend it back with some man power and seam weld it Smokin.. Decided that the original folks where gash so some suspension jobbies off an old raliegh activ8r would suit it better... After a quick reassemble we released the seat postion was going to be interesting... So solve it by taking some front folks and chop out the stem and weld the top of the old seat post to it... job jobbed! I quick test revealed that attaching the folks using just the axle bolts was never going to work. so with a bit of trial and error we decided it needed welding A full reassemble and a bolt tightening It's surpisingly easy to ride once you get going! Day one of the build is finished! ;D Next up a grind off various pegs, clean, sand, paint job, working brakes, nice front tyre big love, moomin and metro

Interesting.. Pity the original seatpost looks totaly superfluous now. Maybe put the seat back where it was, and extend the front of the frame instead? The forks are looking good though.

Maybe a link between the new seat post and the old seat post would bring more strength to the whole lot too.
Like the look of it though.

Thats an excellent use of your time, well done gents! It's a crazy machine, like it! I second Grizz's idea of linking the new seat post to the frame....... what about cutting the seat stay tubes off the rear drop outs and bending them up to meet the top of your new seat post, so its got a kind of square back end (does that make any sense?!?!)

It does make sense. I shall definately redo the rear end. Seat can't go any further forward as you can't pedal.

I rekon you should just triangulate it now, from the old seat post to the new. That makes your frame made up out of just 3 triangle shapes, and I think that would look rather cool, especially if you do what you can to make the new bar and the old crossbar join neatly.
I think you should keep the styling as a mountain bike too. The frame still looks very mountain bike style, so you may as well stick with the style.

That extra tube to the seat would look good curved to match/follow the rear wheel?

Minor update... put in said post and dropped the seat right down and added a suicide brake hehe works lovely but you've got to have some confidence to use it Also went to the dump to throw out some old rubbish and came across this... a working electric scooter! and then picked this up from a freecycle member... Not sure what to do with it yet. It's got a 3 speed hub and it folds in half for easy storage! Chrome needs a good polish and some bits are a bit past it
