My dad my brother and i are very into our two-strokes, and we are all building some nice project bikes at the same time, which leads to lots of part squabbling. Mine first cos its the least bike shaped. rd350ypvs, power valves, 60bhp, might get fuel injection, but nothing major. cbr250 loads of space for the rd engine, along with much uprated brakes, suspension and frame. also finding body parts will be lots cheaper for my inevitable crash(s) My brothers. well it was cheap. i'l be nicking the pipes Dads, he still has memory's of his old ypvs powered tz road bike, blasting all over the isle of man, back in the 80's. So his will probably be the most radical. My ypvs forks, rs250 rear shock(mono shock conversion), tz racing hubs, rs250 brembos calipers front and rear, disc off a brembo eqipped rs125, motor bored out to 375, I swapped this engine for the cbr250 chassis. Don't remember where the tank came from but it's bloody long. Brother 'donated' the rs250 parts. alloy rims, will be laced onto the hubs with rd350 front spokes. spondon disc (on the bench) brembo disc bolted straight on, i like the old school look of the spondon but its not my bike so.. will have to see what happens there.

nice fast bend, hit gravel handily laying in the middle of the road, speedway style slide at about 60mph while pooing myself, bike lays down just in time to hit the kerb with both wheels and highside me into a concrete fence post, of course the Yam felt left out so she decided to attempt an impact on the post as well not caring i was beween her and it , i was very broken for a long time and am now short of several organs i suspected were vital but apparently are not, 21 years ago it was and i'd have her back in a flash if i could. lol

Mine was on an RD350LC (Bored out to 375 due to a BIG seizure). Leans the bike over on ice at 45 mph (on a Suburban cresent) and then appied both brakes. Whilst in mid air I remember a number of things. The noise of the bike smashing into the lamp post, the roar of a Truck coming towards me, the face of a woman with a pram and pre-school child on the pavement, and the prayer that I made. I don't remember hitting the ground or how I got from the middle of the road to the pavement. But I do remember running towards the bike to turn it off. And about 3 hours later (having pushed the remains of the bike uphill a couple of miles to home) I suddenly realised I had Bruises on one side of my body from Shoulder to toe. I guess the prayer worked ? I thought about buying another bike 21 years on but the wife says "NO." and I can't fault her logic.

I could tell you guys some crash story's my whole family is made up of bikers, my mum used to race, my brothers still race's (after a break MTB'ing) <-- Dad is a one legged owner of a zx10r (but hes slowing down a bit). Worst crash I've had was number 26 (i think) hit a dog with my rg125 flipped over the big curse word, snapped my collar bone on a couple of tools i had in my top pocket(idiot!), then the bike landed on my ankle and sliced it open. 6 weeks, longest time i was ever off two wheels. I've hit trucks and been back on the road in three days!

TerraRoot, have you ever thought of joining the Ixion bike mailing list? ixion.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/ixionI suggest the daily digest option. Crashes, I'm lucky only having had one. 400/4, icy road, lost the rear. New indicator, brake lever, bruises. I was lucky. I have broken a toe with a motorcycle though, manhandling my XTZ750 into the garage when it fell over. Very embarrassing way to break a toe

slid a suzy gp100n into a fence at about 25mph. broke an indicator or two. front brake didn't release right so i wasn't suing it, and instead pulled the rear brake on to navigate a 90 degree bend in the rain. limped for a couple of days and sold it a week later and paid for my rg125 to be fixed...

update time! wheel on, disc on, needs bracket for the caliper, note chewed up race tire. €10 for the set Frame rails hacked off to clear monoshocker swing arm. New race seat Brother's project > xt350 rear wheel, aircooled frame, not sure of seans direction here. rs125 brembo disc, unknown hub. My dads 'other' project (being put together in the kitchen no less) keeps pestering me for info on turbo charging CV type carbs I, again, have done nothing about mine, cbr needs more TLC (clutch, fork seals, cam chain, shims, lack of mirrors and indicators, brakes unseizing, new seat foam and cover, also some paint and filler would be nice.) Seat was not the right type (cbr6 f1) had an idea to fit f1 rear panels but decided, that the skinny look wasn't me.
