Truck has no model or make, but presumed Majorette as I has a couple similar... The wheels look more like Matchbox to me. Not that it matters.

Nothing suitable in my parts box atm!

Did I post this one already? I can't remember. Possibly the most vulgar thing I've ever created, scale model car wise. Yes, I have a collection of Games Workshop minatures. Shhh... it's a secret!

The BTCC threads on the general board prompted me to get some pics up of my 1/43 BTCC models. Most are Minichamps but there others, including some rarities. The rarest is probably the David Leslie Cavalier, ive never seen another. Mansell Mondeo of the the famous bridge moment, and the Charlie Cox barrel roll Mondeo are unusual too. The collection. The cav and 'Red5' with Cox's Mondeo. Just. Volvo oof Simoni Afla Romeo 155. The nuts. These were all bought by me or my dad (rip) years ago when the cars were current. Many of them are woth far more now than we paid for them, but as a collection its all about the memories. The times. Also....... Minis. Lots of. I bought these when I was well into Minis years ago. Possibly obsessed. There are rare ones there too. The white 'Issigonis', uber rare, there are a pair of early racers, 33 EJB (No 37) and a 'cooper car co.' racer. And also the 2 blingers, the chrome one more-so. Again, ive ofter thought of selling these, but the look too nice ;D This is only the surface of my collection All mint of course.

Thanks. Ok then, more pics. More touring cars. I forgot about these ones yesterday, they are in a different case. All in the same one now. Various British tin. 1/43 scale. All BL/BMC related. More of that type to come, but the battery ran out on the camera. 1/43 scale Minis. Some rather valuable/rare ones in that lot. OO scale busses and trucks/vans. The busses were all repainted by my dad to an stupidly high standard to represent some that he used to work on or that he remembered from long trips as a kid (he was an actual train spotter/ anorak, at least I know where I get it from ;D ). The Crimson and cream 'British Railways' vehicles are the last collection he ever put together, and aint going anywhere. And now for some actual 'other modifications' Corgi MG Maestro. The Yellow one is an original example, which looks curse word. the red one is one that I modified to look like my old one, all it needed was too take off all the unwanted metal like the big fat bumpers and the crappy mould lines. On first look the originals dimentions look rubbish, but once all the unwanted bits are removed the look really good. Its suffered afew chips recently and I was never quite happy with the finnish so at some point ill get at it and tidy it up. Few more to follow...

I like that quite a bit, looks spot on. Have you modified the original kit much, or is that mostly how it came out of the box?

The parts not from the kit: Grille (a mix of 1958 Edsel headlamps and 1954 chevy parts) Fake air intake on bonnet bulge (1965 GTO) Wheels (unknown supply) Taillamps (AMT 1950 Ford custom buick taillamps IIRC) Pipes (Lindberg 1925 Model T)
Then I smoothened out the bodywork a fair bit...

After seeing this thread I was inspired to go out and buy my own ;D I decided that a Fujimi R30 Skyline I havent started yet, but just a few questions: what sort of tools am I going to need ? Can anyone recommend me any colours for it ? The plastic shell comes in red out of the box but I'm not so sure if I like it our not. Also, are there any guides on how to modify it and lower it as I really don't have a clue :/

you'll need at least: a couple of sharp scalpel type knives, some emery paper ,i use 400,600,800 and 1200 some good quality paintbrushes from 000 upwards tweezers a good bright lamp normal plastic glue superglue decent brush cleaner. you may also find useful emery board (best nicked off significant other) magnifying glass poundshop hobby/craft clamps to hold stuff in place while it glues masking tape scribe/prodder/drill for opening up holes kitchen roll (you never know when you will spill something) model filler as for paint, halfords aerosols are good, and tamiya acrylics are my choice for handpainting, tho i do use humbrol enamels as well.imho revell paint is sh*te and a waste of money.oh and pva glue for clear parts. that should get you on the way to doing some nice models.

Lowering models depends on the suspension parts the kit comes with. Some you can just remove certain elements and glue the suspension together in a lower position, but others require chopping and fiddling. If you want working lowered suspension it gets even more complicated since then you've got to figure out how to relocate certain items.
If you can, get a second kit to play about with and figure out how to do the modifications before chopping up the one you want to finish well. A second kit also has the advantage of giving you lots of spare parts for other mods you might want to do.
