Can I just comment on the paint job? Please improve.... Things like that make or break the deal... You wouldn´t want your van to be tainted by its son... Hello vetlel, sure you can comment, that´s what it´s all about here. As you haven´t seen the trailer and as it´s your first post on here, i´m not sure whether i´d be telling someone that i´ve never met or talked to before, to improve his project though. Just so you know, the paintjob on the van is pretty good. The paintjob on the trailer is not quite as good but still good enough that i don´t have to be ashamed of it! ;D

van looks amaziin bud and the trailer compliments it perfectly
maybe use vynal tiles? like the stuff you have on a kitchen floor...... easy to wash/keep clean and comes in black and white cheque.....
or cover the inside in 2 inch long white fur ;D

Thanks sparko, getting there slowly.
The van isn´t a daily driver but does get used. When we came over to England this summer it was full of beer, camping stuff, beer, a BBQ, beer, a fridge and i think some beer.
I used Lino and too be honest it looks great but doesn´t hold up too well.
I´ll sort something out.
I´m getting the floor in at the moment (8mm waterproof wood), see what i can find locally to put on top of it.
I´ll probably finish off the inside in spring when i´ve got the engine swap done on the van.

Don´t think so mate. Maybe for the sides and roof though. I´ll probably end up putting some wood down or maybe a few tiles but they´ll probably be too heavy.
Aluminium plating is going to be way to expensive.
Have to see what crops up, thanks for your input.

I think it´s a great project you have there. I was just a bit disapointed when i saw the paint upclose in your photo´s. As i said, things like that could break the combo. But with all the german influence aound you , i am sure you won´t stop untill it looks absolutely perfect Again, no hidden meaning there, just an enthousiatic, albeit, rude first remark. Top work!

Love it its gonna be so cool when its finished ;D Cheers mate, here´s a small update. It´s a long way off being finished but you can now get the gist of it! Will definately be good for a laugh or two next year. By the way great Avatar you have there! ;D Vetlel, not too sure about the german perfection influences over here, I try not to be influenced by other people outside my own family and close friends, I normally just do my thing regardless of what other people do or say. I get where your coming from though and if it was a car you´d be right but at the end of the day it´s only a trailer and i´ve got a van to rebuild, my sons MKIII Cortina to restore, my Capri MKIV Cossie turbo project so my spare time for the next 3 or 4 years is pretty much booked up and not going to be wasted on a trailer. The trailer is only just a bit of fun and not to be taken too seriously! Thanks for looking in. Well got all the electrics sorted out and connected up the towbar in the van and everything is working fine. Got the floor sorted.. This is just the waterproof part of it. I´ll be covering it in "god knows what" to make look good from the inside in spring. Well as the weather was really good this weekend i took the trailer out for a test drive to see how it ran behind the van. I was a bit worried as to whether my modified hubs would run true but everything was fine. Had it up to a good 80 kmh on the countrylanes where i live and it ran well and stopped even better.

Wow! Great little project, and top flight craftsmanship to boot.
I'm sure you'll turn heads wherever you go with this combo.
I must look for the thread on your van - is it here in readers' rides somewhere?
Anyway, top work sir.

Cheers krujoe,
much appreciated, haven´t done a thread on the van yet.
However i´ll be rebuilding it this winter around a 2.8I V6 EFI so i´ll start a thread with some of the old stuff as well.

Cheers lads,
nearly had an accident with it the other day.
Some lads overtook us on a windy county line, hanging out the side windows with cameras in hand and plenty of thumbs up only just missing a tractor that pulled out in front of us.
Glad the trailers got brakes!!!
