Hey guys, I'm loving this part of the forum! Ive just bought a house with a nice size garage and plan to get a small retro car and bike to play with. Car wise I'm thinking Pug 304 cab with a weird J retro racer kind of thing going on.. Although I'm not 100% yet. And bike wise, well ive just bought a Honda Cub 90 influenced by "Readers other modifications"!!! I thought people modifying bmx/old mountain bikes etc, il give a motorised piece of junk a 2nd life. Ive yet to pick it up but I got it for £75 so for £75 I'm not expecting much! So my plan is to basically take it apart, just for the knowledge of how things work, repair,rebuild and modify! But this is where I get stuck, the only thing I can come up with idea wise is nato/camo look. Its already rat look! Ive attached a pic for any ideas/advice/photopic colours and mods!! One of these.... ;D ;D ;D ;D Often the answers are at our doorstep. The thing with modification and rodding/chopping is to look for the not so obvious.   c90 power.   Round the world on a c90 ?  |

spot on mate,take lots of pics as you go,,,it's been a long time since i rode a clunk 90,,,i've almost finished my 400 superdream flat tracker project,,i'll get some picks up tomorrow ;D ;D

Ooh ooh! that black chop looks wicked, my ol 'ped is no longer for sale.  Mine look like it'll make a nice one as it happens, it has bicycle style handlebars and mounting so just fliping them upside down and raking the front headstock will do masses for the front. The fuel tank is easily removable, the seat may work just narrowed and lowered a bit and it already has old style lights as its a J reg which also means black and silver plates and one sideways on the front mudguard if i want. might need a 90cc engine and 3 speed grafted in though.  |

ive started to get a few bits together for an engine re-build...
and would be a shame to leave it all dirty so i want to paint the engine black.
any ideas on what paint to get and how to best do it?

How about putting it on a set of 10 inch monkeybike wheels and making a "mini cub" something like these:   Oh and if you want to make it real sweet I have a NOS white faced Speedo for an early cub  ;D ;D If you want to go that way - just say mate i have a couple of contacts on the monkey bike scene |

Cheers Rob all wheel silver will do for the side cases - and any high temp black paint will be fine for the barrel. Personally I would just clean up the cases with a wire brush and then a scourer and autosol - I think engines should look like engines....but hey whatever floats ya boat. I have been tuning the Honda horizontal engine for just over 20 years now.....there are a lot of parts available for them to make them quite quick and produce a decent BHP. For instance if you want to spend a couple of grand you can have a lump like this ;D ;D ;D ;D  |
