Hello! Right I recently acquired a mk2 Golf Gti... 16v of course as a little project as I lost my license and I needed somthing to keep me occupied. Right.. The car its self is a 1987 small bumper model in helios blue. Its done lots of miles so has had a full services (minus cam belt) which is getting done next weekend. Thats how it stood the day I picked it up (sorry the pics aint great) But Yesterday I fitted a new grill In my opinion it looks alot better and ive also ordered a set of coilovers which should be here this week... Thats it for now, I would tell you my future plans but I keep changing my mind.. and heres one more pic just for good measure Thanks!

The wheels are old skool MIM's i don't really like them tbh... and they have balloon tyres so rub at standard height lol...
Thoughts are if ive got to replace the tyres to lower it anyway i might as well kill 2 birds with one stone and get new wheels that i like while I'm at it! hmm.. lol

Great to see a smaller bumper valver. The grill looks sweet makes the front end looks so much cleaner and less fussy, good work ;D

UPDATE!! Right few bits have arrived this week.. main thing being my coilovers from Germany. Was so happy when I saw they had arrived, my old dear moaned cos she had to 'lug a bloody big box with german on it' in the house lol... also bought some new topmounts and bearings... bought mk3 VR6 ones as they are better allround and a bit cheaper hehhe also, as previously mentioned, I won some standard rear lights... these havnt been color coded yet but are here none the less! and finally, got some CL arch spats Problems being is after ive cleaned the car thoroughly, is there is alot more rust than I initally thought.. especially under the plastic arch trims and side rub strips... as you can see I intended to take off the arches and rub strips and just run the CL spats with slightly rolled arches, but if I do this I think fresh paint is going to be sooner rather than later.. main VISABLE points of concern rust wise are the rear valance around the towing eye and the boot The paint is very decieving, from afar it looks awesome, nice and tidy, but it really is wibblepoo tbh... lots of very deep scratches, a fair bit of rust, ive done my best but it really does need a respray, so what I might do is do all the body work and have it riolling around with a rattle canned spray job for a little while, which I don't really want to do as matt/satin paint is very 'scene' at the moment, but I just cant afford a respray for a few months.. so boo fumz down.. anyway ill leave you with a nice decieving pic of her cleaned... looks good in the photo WHEELS NEXT FRIDAY ALL BEING WELL ASWELL!!!!

oh hai! Right.. finally got the coilovers on.. its nice and low... want to go lower still got loads left on the coilies but balloon tyres wont let me not to worry, new wheels have been ordered... keeping them hush at the moment but they are 15X8's with a nice low profile tyre on Got a USA plate on the front that i had lying around just to get a look for it at the moment, got one with my reg on order and obviously wont be used day to day .. and next up is smoothing therecess out of the front bumper but keeping the textured plastic look.. oh and rolling/ chopping away the arches lol and way this si how she is sitting at the moment.. and it can still go down loads... far to much clearance lolzzzzzzz enjoi..
