Well, finally got a Capri Its 1.6 GL, pretty good nick, bodywork is really good for its age. Got a 5 speed box so its a good cruiser aswell. I love it ;D Need to replace the speedo cable and bonnet release, are these very hard to do? I cant tell whether its a Pinto out of a late Capri or a jelly mould, how would I tell? I'm well chuffed, its a such a joy to drive ;D    |

get yourself a standard front bumper for it, reckin that'll help a lot!

I like that - always like Capris every since my mum had one (it was a Lime Green 2.0GT - when you are 10 they seem ever cooler!)

i'm a bit of a purist with the front ends on mk3s personally, mines black but colour coded the grille and surrounds in black too. oh and ive got clear tints on the indicators. oh and no overriders.
so to sum up, i'm lying.

Today I needed to change the cam cover gasket, and wanted to check the spray was working ok aswell. No before pics, silly me. Cam cover off:  Can anyone tell me what carb this is?:  Cams look ok from what I can see:  All sprayed up:  Spray bar off:  My "garage":  Looks better:  Gave it a wash for good measure. Standard grille looks better than the silly mesh that was on there:  Nothing amazing but I'm quite please how it went  |

bumpers with no overriders are sooo much nicer! looks sweet dude, paint up the light surrounds to go with the grille and ur onto a winnaaaar!
it has no sunroof! lucky git! lol

glad u got a grille buddy, i'd do the headlight surrounds in a satin black, you may have to do the grille in it at the same time. red mk3s look really good with contrasting front stuff like that.
and agree about the overriders left off, i did it to mine too.

oh and i like capris but I'm no expert so what are overriders.
keep up the good work and it'll look good, theres not much you can do to make them look bad lol

Thanks guys, comments mean alot! ;D Yeah about the light surrounds, they'll be going black aswell, looks alot better stock colour. The grille was silver when I bought it, but sprayed it up black so I have the same colour left over for the headlight surrounds. I take it over riders are the peices on the ends that wrap around the wing? Wont I be left with a big hole on the end of the bumper where they should be? Lol. |
