Not much of a build diary as such as I'm too busy enjoying driving the thing to worry about fixing owt. This is my new ride Its a supposedly rare car as its a mk1 VDP V8 with factory fitted vinyl roof. Its loaded with a 'goldseal' recon v8 and awesome sounding exhaust. Sitting on vitesse rimzzzzzz and with a vitesse spoiler on it. Full leather goodness and cruise etc etc. If it wasnt so darn'rare' (supposedly) i'd like to remove the vinyl, slam it, fit flared arches and paint it hearing aid beige. As it is, its just going to recieve the slam treatment for now, oh.... and a real mans gearbox wouldnt go amiss either!!! Damned autos More pics when I stop driving it and start working on it

Man with a plan I have to say, I lurve SD1's. More pics needed, whats the oily bits looking like? Whats the plan powerwise? Some fancy carbs or are you keeping the economy*? D *realitively speaking, of-course Well the engine is a gold seal replacement thats donea genuine 30k. I'm deffinately not clued up on V8s but on the wish list is a holley carb and stainless headers, heavely lowered springs, and maybe some porsche lattice/bbs stylee 15s if i can find some at the right price and have some adaptors made. What deffinately needs doing is a manual conversion. The auto box is oh so sweet and all but manual is where its at. I really really do fancy the beige thing though with a full vitesse kit and flared arches but i think that would just be wrong to do to it. Whadda you guys think? Anyhoo......... pics just had to put this on fat pipe to make it sound... erm...... PHAT!

oh please don't hack it about that is actually a rare car, and looks absolutely bang on as it is, i mean mechanical mods go for it, but leave the bodywork and paint and patina alone please? flared arches etc really ruin the lines imho..
Don't fit a Holley 390 or an offy manifold they don't work so well on RV8's get an edelbrock 500 on a performer manifold totally transformed my car, i used to have a Moonraker blue twin plenum Vitesse with a 500 carb on it was superb..

That's great. Must don my convervative trousers (sorry!) and say that I also think less is more with this one. You don't see many like that. I'd probably go further and get rid of the rear spoiler.
I'd also be happy with the slushbox but having driven a manual Vitesse, I can see the appeal of manual.
I've just looked at the pics again. SD1s are incredibly striking aren't they? A four-door sports car.
