think ive got some other bits you can have as well, flywheel, clutch, various starters and alternators, XR3 calipers (maybe vented discs but not sure), think ive got some electric window motors as well. Plus some other bits and bobs if you want them You're a gentleman, sir. The flywheel, clutch, and xr3 brakes would be an awesome help. if it were mine then id be using this pic for inspiration I know they're getting a bit common now (on here at least) but banded steelies look far too good on silver cars imo, itd just have to be done if it was one of my road ornaments You may well be right to be honest, they do look real sweet on silver cars, and common on here isn't exactly common on the open road - quite a rare sight around here. paulmi16: Yeah, that would probably make sense - in one of my braindead moods today. :\

That brings back fond memories.....only sold mine late last year,1600 diesel,55mpg,80mph everywhere!! Had it 10 years, used it for my then business, total milage 180000 miles and still going strong..stuck it on ebay and sold it to a guy near me with talk of turbo lumps being fitted etc etc. This one being a bit rarer as its a special build by ford for the MOD,hence the black paint. Its an estate with blacked in side windows. Would have loved to have dropped it but it was a workhorse for towing and carrying heavy loads.

i think you will find your car will have identical brakes to the xr3 ones and if you want good performance and a nice loud sound then ashley is the way to go for your exhaust i love mine

I like that a lot. If it was me, I'd be ripping out the CVH as I have never got on with them, and dropping in a Zetec from an early mk5 Escort which I'm sure is a fairly easy swap! Mong-deo steels too and not much else. I love sleepers, as you'll probably have realised if you've read my Golf Turbodiseasel build thread...

I've got them on watch, should be easy to clean up nicely misteralz: Yeah, I have considered ripping out the CVH, but don't think I'm gonna do it for a while at least. I tend to love sleepers too, but they've gotta be quick enough to embarrass other road users to really appeal to me, lol.

if the engine is good low milage then keep it and do some simple tuning if not go for the 1.8 zetec with 130 spec cams and twin carbs we had a user on here (think it was fomerco?) with same setup only with small weber carb and he said he could keep up with redtop vaux cars around the track oneday ill be doing the same but for now the cvh is doing me proud

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
