Nice, confused me at first (fuel flap, 4 pot) then I read the year I have a 1978 e12, lovely cars. Yours looks in better nick than mine though. Rear lights and steering wheel are different too.

Just found these pics, which are giving me nasty ideas; The carbs are off a GSXR1100 apparently.

Finally changed the gearbox oil and its a million times better (and actually enjoyable to drive). Still a little bit notchey but it may have always been like that.
The car hasn't grown on me as much as I hoped it would and I can already notice the paintwork suffering from living outside so I may have to pass it on.
Whats the demand for these like in the UK and Germany? No one seems to want them down here cause no one knows what they are.

Well, given the amount left here, i.e - NONE, I'm sure they'll be interest ? This is what we normally have over here..

OOOOOFFFFFF! from m too, lovely car.
IMO any thing from the BBS stable (although not an original idea) would look lush and suit the car to the ground (and I mean the ground!)

I'd leave it exactly as it is.....maybe slam the suspension but apart from that its very cool as it is. I used to run an e12 M535i so know what an e12 feels like at 140mph! I can't help but wonder how much shipping would be to the UK??

Hi Sammm, Lovely car. It wouldn't take much to make it look like this I bet the wheels are pricey though... Lots more pics on www.e12.de

for $750 bucks i'd buy it! not that i need any more BMWs, i'll get shot if i come home with one more. i didn't know that the e12 had an m10 motor in it. I love the sound of an m10 with webber(s) on it. I've got a little 30 something on my 02 and twin 45s on my e21.
I saw one of these the other day looked really nice, and i think the original owner was driving it too.

for $750 bucks i'd buy it! It will never be for sale for that kind of money again, the couple I bought it from really didn't know what they had. The car was originally from Tassie as it happens 427. I bet the wheels are pricey though The official Alpina accessories reseller for Australia offered me a set of 16 inch ex-demo wheels of his own car for the bargin price of $3600AUD (1700 pounds) or roughly 5 times what I paid for the car. As far as the wheels go it has become a matter of keeping my eyes peeled and waiting for something to come along. The PCD is the same as the later BMs but the offset causes problems.

my 02 came from tazzie. she sat in a yard for ages till my uncle got it out and fixed it up then gave it to me to finished it off. I got to drive it from Hobart to home in Melbourne and got home then the head blew.
The best ones to get are from people who don't know what that have. my e21 has a race motor in it with 10,000km and i got it for 800 bucks.

Ive got 6x14's on mine, and I'm sure 7x14's were available too.

Long time without an update because nothing much has happened. Had a current leaking problem that was eventually traced to the glove box light. Replaced the lower alternator mount bush in the process. The paintwork has not enjoyed its new outdoor lifestyle with the roof in particular becoming as chalky (and attractive) as a Russian Weightlifter. Never having polished or waxed a car before (never had a paint job worthy of such attention) it was time to venture into uncharted waters. Products were bought and applied (this isn't one of those detailing threads, can you tell) Before; After;
