The v8 is allegedly out of a police riot van back in the day when they put tuned v8s in them. Its got vittesse heads and high lift cams and a stainless steel exhaust so it should be rather loud if not entertaining. Spax shocks on the back, nice shiney red strut brace and mmmm slot mags!!
Unfortunately it also came with a complementary pond in the back seat.

Nice car, love them Scimitars - I will have one one day (although my Mrs did threaten that she'd ring the scrapyard up herself and have it towed away if she saw it on the drive... lol - no taste that girl!)

Wow scimmie that's a lot of stuff. I'll be having a look at that.
I've wipped the fuel pump off my mgb seeing as that's not going any where for a while anyway which hopefully will be man enough for at least starting it. Which would be good! Just got to find the time to make everything work for the mot. The handbrake isn't hugely useful at the moment, or the seatbelts. And what with the battery being boil in a bag we can't check any of the electrics either. Fun fun fun!

With the handbrake iffy I'd be putting something larger than those teeny wedges in front o' the wheels - it looks a decent ramp to the drink!
Looks a great car - electrical issues are a feature apparently until you go through it all properly- so good luck with that. Where's the water coming in - rear hatch seal, windows?
Good luck with all the fiddly jobs - need a video when she bursts into life again....... ;D

its ok its got a couple of bricks too. And its in park. Ah yeah I forgot to mention its a three speed auto which is a good or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Might float anyway...its made of fibreglass.....
I think its coming in through the front door seals. The doors look like they have sagged a touch which is a mild concern but hopefully fairly easily fixable...or ignored. It has been sitting for a fair old while so it might be only a teeny tiny leak. The dehumidifier is having a go at sorting it out as we speak but its also raining.
Oh and I tried to lock the door and almost ripped the key in half! I'm glad I've gone halves on this with a mate. At least I don't have to do all the work!

We found the fuel pump hoses in the rear left hand side cubby and put in my old mgs fuel pump. We sorted out the coil wiring and got her started up. Only for her to repeatedly die shortly afterwards. Turned out to be a blocked needle valve. SHE RUNS!!!!! Slightly dodgily as the timings still set oddly but ITS ALIVE!!!!
Had a good afternoons work on it on sunday freed up the back drums, fixed the handbrake, cleaned out the needle valves (full of grunge) and few other bits and pieces and drove it round the car park
From not managing to get above 10mph she seems good. She goes forwards and backwards, no worrying clunks as it goes into gear, she stops and she goes round corners. Dunno about 2nd or 3rd but its looking good for this gearbox! We were a bit worried about that as we'd no idea what condition the transmission was in, good it seams!
We do still have quite a list of things before she is mot ready though.
* dodgy seatbelts * throttle sticking to the point of being useless * couple of leaks in the right hand side exhaust (possibly the manifold but I hope not) and a couple of mountings * leaking cooling system around the heater bits * one new headlight * new fuel pump (my mg one leaks) * fix the stereo * a few bits of tuning on the engine (plugs, timing, praps valve clearances, idle adjustment is all to pot too, and there's no choke cable) * various split hoses
BUT all the lights work (bar the busted bulb) the electric windows work, all the gauges (bar the tacho which we've messed with the wiring for) work, the heater fan works, the kenlow fan works, the wipers and washers work, even the clock works! In short most of the car WORKS!
