Hi there, been lurking here for years, some seriously cool cars on board.
thought I'd register, say hi, show my car then lead seamlessly into a for sale ad!!
I've copied the classified add below - save messing!
Not sure if its quite retro enough for you all, but its my baby and she's 17 years old!
Overview
I love these cars and helped set up www.mercedes190.co.uk and I run www.mercedes-cosworth.co.uk.
I have owned 16V’s for over 5/6 years now and this is my third - I‘ve owned this one a little over two years. I built my first one a few years ago and it was featured on the Wheeler Dealers programme on Discovery Realtime (video available at . I bought this 16V about 2-3 years ago and built it using performance parts I'd collected and also added many more new and overhauled parts along the way.
This car has had a total overhaul with most parts replaced or refreshed. As well as the stock replacement parts this car features goodies from OZ, Wilwood, Momo, Eibach, Koni, Carlsson and more. Its taken me over 4 years to collect the parts on this car and this alone is no mean feat. Tuning goodies for these cars are difficult to come by and just sourcing the parts on this car would cost a small fortune and take forever!
Brief Specs
1991/H Mercedes Benz 190e 2.5 16v. Approx 98k although shows 65k as its had a new clock set which is fully documented. Has lots of history and receipts. Manual dog leg gear box with LSD diff.
Engine
2.5 16v Recent partial rebuild with: new timing chain and new style tensioner. All 3 guide rails replaced (not just the top one like most people do!) overhauled cylinder head with all valves re seated and 8 new exhaust valves. All valve gaps correctly set - a very important job! VERY quiet for one of these engines! New genuine head gasket and new head bolts. New alternator. Magnacor leads, fresh oil, filters, plugs, etc, etc. New genuine injectors. Kenlowe electric fan with automatic thermostat. Mocal oil cooler mounted behind front bumper. Straight through single pipe exhaust from turbo to Remus twin pipe back box.
Runs a super rare Mossleman turbo conversion. T4 turbo with custom front mount alloy intercooler. Utilises stock fuelling and ignition with an additional in line ECU that richens when boost is sensed. Runs at approx 7psi and puts out approx 250/260bhp. This kit used to cost over £4k on its own - its obviously no longer available. The epitome of rare 16v tuning parts. Cast iron manifold, Mossleman embossed. Turbo oil return to custom fitment into side of block.
Engine bay is very presentable, many parts replaced, new bonnet insulation, new header tanks, etc, etc - draws a crowd every time the bonnets popped!
Suspension
SLS system has been removed but all pipe work, etc is in place as is the SLS pump on the engine as this locks the diff for the traction control mechanism.
Koni sports adjustable front and rear. H & R Springs -40mm drop. No1 bump spring pads front and rear. 30mm front Eibach anti roll bar with modified brackets, uses stock Merc bushes super rare! Rear Mercedes 190EVO2 rear anti roll bar (18mm) (super rare!) also features metal drop links from a Mercedes W124. Also have custom made adjustable rear camber arms so you can go low and not kill the inside edges of your tyres.
When I built the suspension up, the entire rear sub frame was removed and acid dipped before being painted black. The diff had its oil changed and was painted.. The entire rear frame was rebuilt with every single new arm and bush being replaced with new. New sub frame mounts. Its very clean under there!
The front was also treated to the same treatment. Stripped, cleaned and painted. New ball joints, new steering damper,
new track arms, etc, etc
There aren’t many things that will match this car point to point, with increased poke, sorted suspension and brakes, this car really can move.
Brakes
Front: Wilwood aluminium 4 Piston calipers with 2 piece oversize (300mm from memory) disks on alloy bells. Red stuff ceramic pads.
Rear: Stock with blackstuff pads and black diamond drilled disks. Rebuilt hand brake shoes and mechanisms.
Goodridge stainless hoses throughout.
Interior
Full black leather. Very good condition throughout. Electric drivers seat. Heated front seats. 4 x electric windows. Electric mirror. Slide/Tilt sunroof. Illuminated vanity mirrors. Custom centre arm rest. Rear head rests. Working lap timer! Outside temp gauge. OMEX shift light. Innovate Wideband AFR Gauge and Autometer Boost Gauge mounted on A-pillar.
Exterior
Blue black metallic paint in generally good condition - few minor marks with age. Slight pointy out dink in passengers rear 1/4 panel alongside boot. Recent repaint to bonnet, front bumper, drivers side doors. Genuine Carlsson rear spoiler. BMW e46 front lip spoiler on bumper + meshed cut out for oil cooler. Colour coded front grill with shaved emblem. De badged. Rear bumoer cut slightly and trimmed for exhaust cut out. Stong shell with no rot. Has had 2 minor welding patches. One was approx 20p sized in the rear passengers arch. The other was approx 2” square near the drivers side front jacking point. All done to a high standard.
Wheels/Tyres
17 x 8 ET35 OZ Operas. Super rare wheels, no longer available in this size.
New 215/40 tyres.
Possibly one of the best looking wheels for a 16v 190e.
ICE/Electrics
Boot install with 2 JBL amps, 2 Sony subs, 2 way Kicker components up front, alpine minidisk and 6 disk, farad capacitor, flash wires, etc. Full use of boot still and takes a spare.
Scorpion Alarm with imobilisor and full closure - will shut windows and sunroof when activated. Seriously cool!
She's been the love of my life for years but a recent move mean she has to go.....offers around 7k if anyone wants a nice well rounded car!
