Hello! I've been really quite lax about posting this up since I've been tooling round in it for a few months now. I popped out tonight and snapped a pic of it though. A 1989 Volvo 360 GLE Limited Edition in a sort of metallic slate green. Being a Limited Edition (one of the last 360s I believe), it has all the toys, leather, etc. It can get quite a move on for a barge too, and surprises quite a few people. Most notably those who tailgate you through a 30mph limit expecting you to be about 90 and then struggle to keep up once the road becomes derestricted. Very very RWD too. It's got about 80-odd k on the clock and I got a fair wodge of service history and things with it, which is always nice. I'm probably going to get rid of the headlamp wipers (only one works) and try and find a cover for that slot to clean up the front end a bit.

so I'm guessing the 360 is basically a 340 saloon is it? Sort of. The bodyshell is obviously pretty similar, but in this incarnation the running gear is quite different. B200K motor like in a 240, torque tube rather than a prop, and usually much better specced than the 340.

Saloons could be either a 340 or 360. 360 means it's the 2litre volvo redblock, whereas the 340s were 1400 or 1700 renault units. Nice 60 btw, liking the 440 wheels.

Ooh very nice, almost a twin of my car it seems.... exept mine's a GLT Looks good on them 480 alloys, they were originally the set I was after for mine but a different style came up that I couldn't say no to! Is it an F or G plater?

Hehe, like my cars sporty brother! Mine's on an F plate. Your interior is probably exactly the same as mine, comfy isn't it? The rims are 480 Turbo (I think) off eBay. It was either these or the similar (7 spoke?) 14s. This is the first car I've had that I don't think would automatically look better with some height reduction. I quite like the way it's a bit pumped-up and high rolling. It suits the barge nature.

Mine was originally GLT plush trim inside, but I fitted leather from a scrapper. Got a few other things like external temperature gauge, econ gauge, and an accessory gauge panel in the centre console (but not yet fitted), accessory snowcap/bonnet scoop, bodykit etc.... Also have Spax gas adjustable rear shocks which were a nice addition to handling! They can grip like curse word if you don't mind the roll.
Yours looks in real nice condition, mine is in a bit of a state and needs a fair amount of work bodily, unfortunately! There's another Limited Edition 360 GLE saloon on Piston Heads, just come up - but they're pretty rare. There was an earlier SE (1986) that even had air conditioning.
Seats are great imo, one of the most comfortable I've sat in - don't think they're bettered by my S40 T4's either!

Unfortunately it isn't. In between the original old guy having it and servicing it at a main dealer every year regardless and me buying it, there was a guy who obviously chugged it about as a banger. As a result there are lots of car park dings, it's been keyed a bit, and a couple of the toys don't work very well. There's rot in the back arch and the end of the sill on the offside too. Ah well, it cost me very little!

Ah.. typical, bit of a shame really - probably worth giving that kind of rust a bit of a treatment to stop it getting any worse.
I think mine was a similar kinda car when I bought it - 80k and an elderly deceased owner! 2 and a half years later and it's still going strong, though!

Aye, I'm going to cut it all out and get fresh metal in there when I've got a bit more time in a couple of months. I'll probably try and sort most of the niggles (apart from the heated seats, I'm fine with those not working).
