yeah ive got a spare rear arch and ive cut it to make a repair section. a customer at work is lending me a joggler to put a step in the wing and I'm going to weld in the section.. the rear wing i have filled with fibreglass and I'm in the process of sanding down and getting it into some sort of shape. I'm having 2 solid days on the car this week so ill be sure to take some photos to update the thread. thanks for all the suggestions and i am taking notes..

been a while since last update but gor the exhaust on properly now, sounds ok aswell. cut the front wing to accept the repair panal but ran out of gas on the first bit. wired the dash in and changed the timing belt to a new one. ticks over a treat now and sounds the bussiness. few litle bits and bobs and i think it should be ready to take for an mot....

Ok managed to hit the garage this week and got a few little bits sorted, fitted the near side caliper and made the brake pipe up. sorted the wheel problem by getting smaller tyres fitted and slightly trimming the front valance down to miss the wheel on full lock. sorted some seats from a mx3 from a kid that comes into work , been two weeks tho so not holding my breath now. got the front wings to sort , the annoying bit at the back of the arch, made a repair panal and held it in with two screws at the min. next problem is the timing. ive fitted a new belt and can not get it to run properly, ticks over just fine but when its revved it pops and bangs from the carbs. looking to change the pionts and condenser this weekend and hopgully sort it all out.. pics to follow

right I'm back on the firenza, after the thoughts of selling it to buy that cheap evo4 ( which the father in law bought ) so i can use it when i want lol I'm back in the garage. first things first brake master cylinder, broken. theres a little stop pin on the second piston and it was stubborn and ive broken it, but does it need it. soon find out tommorrow when it gets fitted and the brakes bleed. the rads back from being recored and it looks good. that'll be fitted tommorrow morning. then charge the battery and see if she still runs ok. ill get some updated pics asap and post them on here, its nice to see a few more viva coming on the scene now so I'm in gear to get it sorted out. only a few little bits to do but as most men know when a woman wants somthing doing all your plans get put aside so I'm off work for a few days to start doing my car.

right update i will get pics soon as i can. brake mastercylinder has been repaired now after a day and realising the old seals were on the wrong way round, no wonder it didnt have any brakes before. the recored rad i had done is all ready to be mounted up and filled and the timing is sort of bang on now . just a few little hiss's from the the carb when you rev it hard. the exhaust i made is a little raspy on the throttle when i let it off so I'm going to rethink that one. still trying to find some decent seats to replace the std sl ones, i thought buckets but don't want to stray away from the 70's feel of the car. want to keep it 70' styling with subtle changes. sorted the wheels rubbibg on the front aswell and they are spot on now. just the front wings to repair , the little bit at the back where the mudflaps were. then a check over for the mot and i think its ready to go.. ill post the pics up asap.

ok havnt touched the firenza for a while now but ive just bought a scooby 2.0 turbo, temted to break for the running gear for the firenza. possibly too hard to do but i can dream lol. any way ive managed to get the thing timed up now so it runs ok. need a bottom hose as mines split and tidy the wiring loom a little bit. managed to free the rear drums by undoing the cable from the levers on the cylinders. suprisingly enough the cylinders looked ok but new ones will be ordered on monday at work.

thanks for the comments guys, this car has been a pain with me thinking of selling it a few times due to finacial worries but theres not many around and yes colour is wicked. so its been saved from being sold a few times. so i plan to get it ready for next year and ill get some more pics up asap. next is to sort the handbrake out and get it drivable. not drove it since ive had it. ill keep you all posted.

right new year new mojo back and I'm in the garage getting on with it. sorted a few things the weekend, bit of wiring and releasing rusty bits and bobs. got the drums off the back finally and found a slightly worn set of shoes and cylinders. finally got the stripe of the side with a bit of white sprits and looks better for it. this rebuild is taking me ages but i can see the difference I'm making, if it is only slightly. does anyone on here have a bottom hose for the 2.3 slant engine without the heater take off. replaced heater pipe to the matrix and next job is to throw out all my spares for other cars to make room in the car itself. ill keep this thread updated more regulary with some more pics.
