been a while but things are going ok on the firenza. found some arches and even got a spare l/h one. sills are there too and I'm nearly onto the bodywork. engine runs sweet and has no knocks or rattles to speak of. Had loads of advice on how to repair the rear arches so I'm going to be brave and atempt them myself. was going to sell it to get anothe rproject but whats it worth in an unfinished state and what do i get to replace it... Just hard finding the time at the moment with work and the kids... should hopfully be on the road next summer i have more pics and ill post them soon

Well ages since my last post, but ive finnaly got in the garage and cut the nearside sill off. to my amazment sombody has repaired it in the past and filled the rear end of the sill with rags and filler. so imagine grinding away and whooose a flaming rag falls out the end. inner sill is in good condition and is still silver from the factory. new sill fits a treat just need to fabricate the rear end of the inner sill and its ready to be welded into place. rear arch is still a mystery as how I'm going to do it, but ill give it a shot.

yes will do. got in the garage on monday and well what a nightmare. A grinding disc shattered all ove rthe place taking things out, light bulbs etc then i got a shock of my mig welder as it was damp, then next i decided to start it up and smoked myself out of the garage. still i did get the one rear arch on and held on by mole grips and it looks good just need a little bit more trimming and ill begin the welding...

ok ive decided and my wife has that i need a bodyshop to do the work ( she said I'm a danger to myself) so its booked into a good friend of mines garage to have the rear arches and sills done. ive seen his work and hes fantastic. I know ive wimped out but i can just see me messing it right up and it'll look rubbish. While its away I'm going to get the wheels painted and polished and some other bits sorted. Need to find an exhaust system as i had to cut the old one off, couldnt get the back box of without cutting it... i have got a big stainless twin box for the back but not sure it will look any good as i want it to look period. Also does anyone do poly bushes for theses cars as the front will need replacing as its been stood so long. and i guess the rear ones aswell. also if anyone has a small steering wheel and boss to fit an hc let me know and ill buy iy... ill get some photos from the bodyshop when it goes to show what other cars my mate has...

I managed to find an original back box in a scrapper at home but the rest of the exhaust for the Magnum (is in bits!) is made from pipe i got from a local exhaust place plus a cherry bomb and the fiat manifold.......just wing it man.
Good move for the bodywork - as someone once said "the cheapest way is usually the most expensive way" and after you get over the financial outlay you can rest assured that you'll have it done by a professional this way
Superflex do polybushes for the HC Viva/Firenza/Magnum - not cheap though. If i remember correctly it works out between £500/600. Have to say they're a good investment though, changed my GT6 dramatically
Oh yeah, keep those pics coming!

Niiiiiice man! What a beast. have you considered just cutting out a triangular bit of the valance where the wheels rubs? It's only a single ply sheet which is well away from the chassis or anything important, but it will give you the clearance you need for the front wheels in full lock. I also found out the hard way when I put some slotmags off my old GT on my viva estate - apart from I drove it all the way to StIves before mashed up my wings, valance and tyres!! as far as the exhaust goes, listen to leigh. There's a lot of space to work with under the viva's/magnum ect so custom making a system shouldn't be too hard. A lot of things (including your arches) are about being brave and giving it a go. Whats the worst that could happen? - its all learning - apart from electrocuting yourself, giving yourself carbon monoxide poisoning and removing a limb with cheap grinding disks!!! ;D Get some decent disks for your grinder, and start it up outside!! Wicked project man, and quite a desirable motor these days. It's gonna look the boss!
