Hi people, just joined and thought i'd get some pics up. I've done a hello thread in general but thought i'd throw some more pics up here. The car is a 89F Sport with 74k and fsh, i've fitted a Bilstein B12 kit, Tar-Ox discs and pads and Goodridge hoses all round. I'll try and get some pics took of it when its clean, aint got any at the mo.

Excellent.
What is your opinion of the brake upgrades? Only suitable for hard driving, or also an improvement on everyday? E30's don't have the best brakes as standard, even when they're on 4-disc set up, so any bright ideas will be welcomed.

They're a hell of a lot better than they were, but still not great. They just don't give me great confidence, but my car before was a 2005 Impreza STi with huge Brembos and uprated discs and pads. so i am still comparing them to that. Too be honest though, my tyres do need replacing so they probably don't help. Loads of tread left but just curse word Pirelli P6000's.

I see. Being a lowly peasant I know not of your Impreza brakes.

Yeah I just got rid of my Impreza in November, but its the 4wheel drive to rear wheel drive thats causing me the most trouble.

Welcome, E30's are excellent cars, balanced and great fun ( even the 1.8i - I find ! ) Don't worry about clean, we're not fussy here

Was used to the STi and i'm still partial to fwd, had a couple of Type-Rs and a Focus ST2 before. Getting the hang of this rwd malarky now. ;D

Great car, I have one too! E30's don't have the best brakes as standard, even when they're on 4-disc set up, so any bright ideas will be welcomed. Pog - my tip for E30 brakes is to use very good fluid and change it regularly. I use ATE superblue in mine, as in my other cars and it gives a great improvement in pedal feel over Dot 4. I just have standard (but recently new) discs, pads and hoses on mine and it stops great with good pedal feel - hard to bleed though with ABS, I find you need to do it with the engine running. I looked into brake upgrades but there wasn't a straightforward one I could find as bigger BMW's all seem to be 5-stud so can't nick larger discs, calipers etc from them. Sorry for rambling off topic a bit...

Very, very nice. Fuel economy and being able to find a decent unabused car puts me off.

Only thing is, i love the noise of the straight 6 + Scorpion exhaust so can't resist giving it a bit of stick. TBH this was the 1st 1 i went to look at, but with just 3 owners (1 of them for 15 years) 74k with fsh and the way it drove i had to have it. Its not mint, but very, very clean for a 19 year old car.

if you're looking for one of the BEST brake upgrades for your cars: the BIG Master Cylinder ( 25mm MC from the V12 7ers). I did it and it was the best upgrade I could do. Best brakes I've ever had on a car. it's a 10 gauge shotgun in relation to the standard .22LR plinker that it comes with It's brilliant, cheap and takes about an hour to install (you JUST need the MC, all your standard stuff attaches to it)
