	Just a little update. Got the doors and bonnet off as it gets ready for the body work. Doors are really good with no rust anywhere. Bonnet needs a bit of work but nothing major and just a little bit of rot behind the door needing fixed but all in all really good. engine is out in next day or so to get cleaned up and put back in with new seals, filters,etc Heres a few pics

	I don't like those rear lights but as you say, they're different and are part of what makes your car unique. Also, I suspect it would mean more work to return to standard which costs time and money. Can't wait to see the car painted and fitted back together, always liked these since one of my brothers restored and ran a 1600E Series 1.

Ive got a set of original lights and some fabrication is currently in hand to return to original look/spec so all is well ;D Car should al be done in aout 2-3 weeks

	Can't make my mind up about those lights (sorry, this entire thread is going to be dedicated to those!). They look to inset so it isn't very pleasing to the eye - but, it looks like a period modification which makes it different which therefore gives it great appeal! Looking forward to seeing how it comes out in a few weeks though, whatever the back end looks like. Your car so your call!

	Go Mick ! Just curious but why do you want a red interior ? I think those black seats look fantastic ( especially the rear one) , I just think if you replaced the blue carpet with a black one then you'd have a winner

I think once its painted, if i go with red seats also it will be to much so gonna just leave em black i think. I'm gonna order carpet and headlining later and ive got a couple of things to do on the mk3 as well, so thats gonna be ahead in the queue of the mk2 interior...lol. Just wanna get them on the road now

	Engine out today and had a good look around. Been welded in a couple of bits here and there with a mix of quality but over all quite happy really. Gonna have the engine cleaned as its pretty dirty. Today ive also ordered new gaskets all round, plus new hoses, clips, etc and new filters. Heres a few pics of the bay. And i picked up these which i thought would look nice as a finial touch

	picked up these from the electroplaters today. Should go very nice with the colour scheme and wheels about 2 weeks now till finished product. Should have some pics this week on the new rear end

	Small update to report. Cars been been checked prougher than first thought. Front panel is rotten and the lights were poorly welded. The rear ended has had the old light holes re-opened and the daft capri holes wleded up. Also had the filler cap put back to how it was as it had been relocated also. Also having 4 new sills put in as they were poor as well so though might as well get it all done now while its stripped. Here some pics so hoping really to have it on the road in a couple of weeks......but got mot to do first
