Ive been trying to get a friend of mine to sell me this for some time now and he finally gave in, and I'm picking it up in a day or so. Its really solid and has a 1.6 crossflow engine. Thats about as much as I can tell at the moment. I'm getting it booked in asap for a rub down, check, fix what needs fixing, then resprayed....but not sure what colour yet. Wheels are nice but I'm getting refurbished anyway. Heres a quick preview of how it is at present

Woah! Are they mk1 Capri rear lights? That looks funky! Like the detailed Rostyles aswell. Is the grille gold too?

Yeah a few custom touches there. i like that, but probs prefer propper lenses.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

To be honest i never really noticed the rear lights and as I'm not that familiar with mk2's I'm glad someone point it out...lol. Looks like a previous owner has attempted a mod of sorts. At least it makes it different i guess but thtanks for noticing guys ;D

Thats a great car, in my opinion i would get some black number plates made, and remove / smooth down the badges at the back, but it looks great with the capri lights!

Just a little update I have taken the rather worn wooden dashboard and wooden door trims off an had them re-trimmed in a nice dark red colour. It don't match the car colour at present but will in a week or so Also picked up some nice compomotive superlites 13x7 in the front and 13x8 on the rear. And i just got my new number plates in through the door as well as new screen rubbers and a chrome trim

With the car going away tomorrow morning to have the engine taken out and the body worked sorted and a new respray, i took the grill and headlamp surrounds off today. The were "minging" to say the least. They were all scratched, discoloured and nearly 40 yrs of crud behind them Soooooooo........i gave them a good degrease and clean, then painted them with some primer Theeeeeeeen..........i painted them with some nice metalic silver paint. Look much better i think and will save a couple of quid in the long run The next pics will be of the body work getting prepared. Hoping to have completed in about 10-14 days
