Hello there
I m pretty new to RR, just happen to stumble accross it when doing a google search and I m bloody glad I did, its an awsome forum
any way I though I would post some of my past and preasent Rides
this was one of my first projects, 95 Clio 16V which I did some modds to the chassis and engine for the track but it was still road leagal
Engine Spec - 1800 16V, head fully reworked with ported and polished inlet and outlets and also matched, bigger valves were also installed, Kent race spec cams with adjustable pulleys, induction kit, remap, straight through exhaust with decat which produced a healthy 167bhp @ fly
Chassis/braking spec- lowered 60mm allround, with adjustables, full OMP roll cage, green pads and cross drill disks
just cleaned
newly built engine ready to be dropped in to the valver, made 167bhp @ the fly
this is my pride and joy, my clio Williams 2 (always wanted one since they first came out, anyway about 4 years ago I opened the local paper and there she was (couldnt belive it) 36k with a FDSH, I basically called the guy and gave him what he wanted for it the next day so he wouldnt sell it before I got it, it was mint, since then its been in the wars, I hit 2 deer on 2 seperate occations within the space of 10 months, it was written off both times with nearly identical dammage, I put it back on the road both times at vast expence using renualt parts (couldnt bear to scrap it) about 4 mounths ago the gearbox threw its hand in @ 56K so a refurbishment was on the cards, I will never sell it
engine out
gearbox sent away for rebuild, new clutch fitted
replaced the whole front end inc wishbones, all bushes, anti roll bar, tie and track rods. Brakes were ok but wish I had painted calipers and also painted dampers/sub frame) its not rust on the sub frame etc its copper grease ;D
I wished I had stripped and painted the uprights, again its copper grease not rust on the black stuff
end result
this wasnt a restoration project it was just a refurbishment to get it back on the road and solid as its my daily although last year I only did approx 1k miles
this was my other toy but now is sold to fund my latest project (Busa powered MNR Vortx Kit car I'm building) it was a TVR Griffith 500 with a Taraka engine upgrade (the company TVR Power does this upgradehttp://www.tvrpower.co.uk/taraka.php ) its basically set up the same as the Tuscan challange race cars which doesnt make very good for every day driving (very lumpy) but it was very quick
parked up
anyway thats me hooked to RR, there are some amazing projects going on here
cheers for now
Finlay
