Sorry to hear of the problems. On "getting it up"... I use a piece of thick wood or two. Drive onto it, and you have those precious extra few inches. Pop your trolley jack under and pump away. You can also use this method to jack your car up.

Well from my brief glances at airbag technology, the simple bags (like on the rear) are relatively cheap? so with any luck it is something that simple Hope you get it sorted soon!

Well got the worst nsr air bag out - turns out the initial installation was an absolute bodge - it was rubbing on the rear chassis/body so predictably there's a big ass hole in the airbag. Ordered a new firestone one from rayvern on wed -still hasn't arrived - that was about 110 notes. Will strip the other three down to see if there's any problems with em. Will get some pics up later.
Also on the to-do list is get the rear solenoid secured as they were flapping about and to get the front wings replaced as they're too far gone to repair. Full of wag and rust and splits where people have been slamming the car on lock and the car has been resting on the wings against the front wheels.
So if anyone knows of any w126 wings kicking about it would be a MASSIVE help.
Pics tomorrow when i'm down the workshop again.

I'll be down there tomorrow again to do some work on it.

All fixed, paul at coltech classics is a G! Old bag removed I'm no expert but that big hole don't look right. Had a look underneath at the chassis rail thats rubbing on the nearside bag - so that got ground off. To add to that the warning label on the bag states that the max load is 200psi and that it's not to be used with nitro-which it was. So no surprise it went in the end tbh. Nice new beefy Firestone bag with 800psi max loading. Nice clearance for it as well so it ain't gonna be rubbing on anything. Will have to be at the wheels day with rusty front wings i'm afraid (oh the shame). But plan by the summer is to get all three other bags replaced with heavy duty ones, run 1/2" lines all through the car with nitro plumbed in - should be hopping (lets see what that breaks next).

Gah, sorry to hear your troubles, but glad it's all fixed up again I've said it before and i'll say it again, this car is seriously cool and I also like the way that there is no pattern whatsoever as to the type of cars you buy, just look at the list in you sig! You just seem to get whatever you fancy.... Sums up the spirit of Retro Rides to a tee IMO

Cheers street - like i keep saying, too many cars to own and not enough time, so trying to get through as many as possible. glad its on the mend, what are the benefits of using nitro then??? Oxygen-free nitrogen is there straight away without having to wait for a tank to fill up - its also silent as there is no compressor to run. It also fills the bags up far quicker than using the air and the car goes up and down so so quickly.

yeah its just a big ol boc bottle in the back. when you want to run it on nitro you open the regulator/tap that's attached to the bottle and then it runs off the pressurised nitro. so no faffin about switching on the loud-ass compressor.
oh that's anothr thing I want to look into before wheels day-getting some sort of rubber damping between the compressor and the boot metal as at the moment it is proposterously(sp) loud when its on.

I think you should try to capitalise on that Tiguan - while all the other L0-rdrz are bustin out their moves to a some backstreet boys records or East 17 or whatever it is they listen to, you could pop your boot to reveal an ARMADA of loudhalers surrounding your pneumatic rig. When you get enough people looking in with 'WTF' written in the looks on their faces, simply fire up the rig and watch them dive for cover as the deafening and all-enveloping 'air-raid warning' drone convinces them in less than a second that the end is indeed nigh.
