1.8 Zetec seems like a good engine to uses plenty of RWD conv. parts about, cheap and fairly easy to work on and alright economy too, Plus it's a Ford engine ;D The modern seats don't look out of place at all, concidering the age of the van. I just love it the Taunus Transits just have such a nice shape to them, I must admit I never knew they existed until seeing yours and Oldbus's on RR

Rian - I've got at least one of them thin mattress things sitting I never use. It depends if you want it all in one sheet. Yours if you like...... Thanks John, but two things..... ;D Oldbus has spoken, and I wanted it very thin, like kitchen lino thin. OK Dave, will see what I can scare up soon enough. Plywood now has 2 coats of marine paint, same as bus floor, which has 3 coats.

Floor boards all now covered in 3 coats of marine paint too. Next up, order sound deadening, and apply, then insert floor. IN OTHER NEWS: Well, I am sure many of you know that I am up for trying quite a few things. On Wednesday evening on my way to Nicola's I saw an industrial sized sewing machine out on the pavemement. With Thursday being bin day, and council collection of large scrap day... it had to be my lucky day. Knocked on the door (as it is good manners) and asked about it. Yep, its rubbish now, but it put our kids through university was the reply. Guys wife used to make and alter clothes from home for years, bought the machine new. Only got a few pics. It runs a wet oiled sump below the machine and is in VERY GOOD NICK. Yesterday I went and picked it up with the bus, where it still is, as it is stupidly heavy. This machine will be doing the interior upholstery and roof lining of the bus and any other jobs that may need doing later. Whatcha think..... Good catch ?? Cheers for looking in.

OK.... Time for a few pix again, on todays progrss. Sound deadening. Sexy new floor in, hope it lasts. Doing the sides as well, and will do the roof once the dents in the roof are sorted. Lastly... reward time. Though it had started raining, I had a plan, so BBQ was still the magic word.

Well Nicola likes the idea of privacy when we sleep in the bus. I like the idea of noise reduction. Yesterday I then deceded that seeing as the sound deadening was in the sides, I would proceed and build in the base and framework for a devider. Knowing what you want and getting there are two different stories. Ultimately I got what I wanted, and the inside will be covered with car type carpeting later when I do all the panels. I managed to get a shelf in the front of the devider too, as storage is always a problem, no matter how much you have. The seats also push back over the steel bulkhead, so I had to compensate for that, and cant the whole panel over backwards, and then close in the sides. Pics...... Built a base from an old door frame and other bits of cast off materials. (Pretty much all the materials used were cast off, and offcuts.) Template to get basic curve of the roof, carpet will shut gaps in the end. Only had the width I had to work with. Structure completed. More Grey or is that Gray paint. Front view fitted. Shelf to be screwed down tonight when the paint has dried more. Rear view, top brace was cut down kids bed frame, tip find as well.

Hey Rian, Looking great!! I like the idea of the privacy screen/devider. Maybe I'll steal that idea for my bus . How's the result of the sound deadening material? It's looking fairly easy to install and very clean.

Hi mate, the install of the eDead sound proofing is extremely easy, one carpet knife, cut with one end and use rear to presure apply on surfaces, the stuff is clean, and sticks easily, but I felt that really forcing it down onto the surfaces would help it eliminate more noise and also stiffen all panels. Not cheap, but then everything on the bus has a purpose and many things, like the devider really cost almost nothing. You are most welcome to use any ideas, to me anything that makes life easy are common propperty.

Took the bus out for a drive down the motorway and to B&Q the very long way round last night, wanted to get e few sheets of 6mm ply for the sides and also the roof when I am done with it, B&Q had no stock, and no idea when next lot comes in Then on to Nicola to cut the grass etc, and back home by 9.30. When I parked her up inside my back yard, I heard Pssstt Pssstt Pssstt Pssstt.... and investigated. One of the pipes that run from the front of the engine block to just below the carb (I guess to do with warming things up in winter) was leaking what seems like radiator fluid.... so bought a new pipe today, have no idea on size, so hope it fits , going to fit it in a moment. Glad I did the run, as it is possibly the last run, except for next weeks www.medwaymonkeys.co.uk run on Thursday evening, and then it is off to RRG'09 on Saturday, and I would hate to lose the pipe on the road.

OK, pics . Leak must have sprung from the kink in the pipe. Replacement pipe @ £6/meter. Done. Hope it stays in place, always worry about replacing bits, that I do it as good as original.
