First off, my name is Ed and i'm 16. The car used to belong to my Dad, before i nabbed it and taught myself how to drive around a field. In the process I managed to break a couple of parts on it and in the process of fixing the said parts, find more bits that needed attention. It also failed its M.O.T. whilst my Dad was using it, so that needs sorting before it comes my first car in April.
Specs are as follows:
1993-Peugeot 205 1.8Dturbo.
Everything is boggo standard at the moment to keep insurance down, as the engine is big for a new driver.
I do have some 1.6GTi alloys as well as a 1.6Gti engine for it when the time comes, but its staying standard for the time being.
Whilst new radiator was being put in (i fubar'd the original)
I also whipped the front wheels off to check what was required underneath
There was also a pretty chronic oil leak. I managed to come to the conclusion that it was the sump gasket that was fubar'd. So i got a replacement and spent the next 6 weeks doing that (thats not an indication of what i'm capable of, thats just me getting free weekends to work on it. It was around GCSE time for me as well which didn't help.
Problem solved? well i thought so. but unfortunately the peugeot didn't, its since sprung leaks in 3 different places, so i'm constantly fighting against it.
It still requires:
1 full exhaust
Brake discs + pads up front
Brake shoes
Handbrake cable adjusting
Headlight adjusters x2
Central Locking fixing
1 Rear Seatbelt
Drivers seat could do with a look, its sagging a bit.
I think there's probably more, but thats enough for now. Will hopefully update this thread a bit more, the pics aren't the best so i apologise for that.
Cheers,
Ed.
