Hi all. All this talk recently about Colts has finally prompted me to do something about putting some pictures of mine up. Xbollox has kindly agreed to help me and will put some up later on my behalf ;D I found my Celeste on the Bay a few months ago and £350 changed hands. Its got the 5 speed box and twin solex carbs. It drives spot on. The original radio only has MW/LW but works. Everything is original and has now got 48k on the clock! (fsh). It still needs lots of body work sorting but underneath is as new  I use it daily and is great fun. The Astron 80 engine is so quiet but for a 1.6 is amazingly fast. At £350 I knew I couldn't go wrong, its hard to find any J coupe at this price, let alone a GSR. If anyone knows the history of XRR 939S please let me know. Its from the Nottingham and Birmingham areas (now North Shropshire  ). Anyway, enough of my waffle for the time being, pics to follow ;D Shaun  |

Your 1.6 should be a Saturn engine like my Galant, shouldn't it? Twin carbs sounds interesting.

Hirst,
Its got a gold sticker on the rocker cover that says ASTRON 80. I don't know what the differance is. Should it be a Saturn?

Very odd! I didn't think you could get the Astron in a 1.6, sounds a bit odd. Mine has a weird logo on with an 80 in.

You've got me thinking now, Ill have to double check, I may be wrong as the funny symbol rings a bell. Will have a look later mate.

Must of had Astron on the brain! Its defo a Saturn 4G32GS engine.

Hey the Saturn engine is alright I reckon, fairly torquey! Imagine it would feel a lot more at home in a more lightweight car like the Celeste, doesn't do bad in my heavy Galant considering.

Still on the look out for a door handle if anyone comes across one. I have tried to fix it but wont hold. I might have to bite the bullet and have one shipped over, (If I had done that in the first place I would have it by now! DOH)  I will be at the Chumley Castle meet in May and might find one there, you never know |
