Hey Dudes. Bin here a while now - but this is the latest project. We have an auction site called 'Trademe' here in NZ - and I bought this last year - July I think... Had a few problems getting it home - 200 miles with no reg or w.o.f and a blown head gasket - I was planning to repower it, so it didn't matter what state the engine was in - except I didn't want to tow it... Took a rope and tow vehicle anyway - but apart from several necessary 'tweaks' enroute, it went ok... What was not evident from the photos on the auction, was the fact that it had been carpeted in the back... Kewl..! Unfortunately - neither did they show that the back doors had been creamed... Never mind - I wrecked another van recently, that donated another pair of doors - so they should be able to fill the gap... Today (30th December..) I removed the original engine and gearbox - engine has been sold - so the body is ready for the panel Dudes to wreak their magic prior to painting... I have ideas for the intended direction of this 'thing' - I shall overbore a BMC 'B' series block from 1800cc to 1905cc, and add a 48mm Dellorto carb - not sure what camshaft profile yet - but it has to be road tractable, so bad-as boys are out..! I guess it means - watch this space..! Chiz, Kilroy

Not sure on colour yet. Initial feeling is to hang with the red - easiest way to get a total cover - but I'm sure I could be more imaginative... Yeah - got sunburned yesterday.. Here's a colour though...

:)I love this photo! Very cool vehicles you have there. :)Was the Ital sold over there? I notice the "van" has Ital door handles.

Slow reply mates - lotsa other car stuff to attend to. The problem with having 8 cars and two bikes on the road is that the list of defects grows faster than the rate of repair can cope...! I think 1 or 2 Itals were sold here, but never seen any on the road then or now. Yes - the van has the later door handles and mirrors - and no quarterlights at all. Not sure how far to strip it at the moment - as I don't have a definite plan for how far I want to go with restoring the body. I can handle all the mechanical stuff, but never developed any panel skills. That means handing dosh to others - never one of my strong points... Am beginning to renovate bits of engine and suspension for it though, found a very nice cylinder head that is now completed, and have various parts of the front suspension done. Will change it to car back axle, and use car stud pattern, plus lower it and fit swaybar etc. Would love some wide steels for it, but not sure if that process is still kosher from a legal slant. Have read on the nz oldschool site that its ok to use one piece rims and have centres transferred - so am following that line of enquiry now. Inevitably - am discovering a fair amount of grottage, but so far - nothing too hideous. Floors are suffering - but no holes yet... Some clever trevor made a gasket from a weetbix packet.. And how in the curse word did they get the speedo cable behind the steering rack..?? All in all - looking pretty good so far.
