I bought this a fair few years ago and have spent quite a bit replacing all the broken and worn bits with GM parts. It has done me well over the past years, it was 30k miles when I bought it, and have not done a lot more since then. It has a mint interior, the paint is pretty good, it's rust free, and the engine is like new. It has Calibra Turbo/Astra Coupe Turbo F/R 5 stud hubs, but that's about it with the 'mods'. I just like the wheels, but have the originals in my garage. I've never seen many of these on the roads, and suppose in the future they will gain some sort of classic status, and I want to keep it in the condition it is in now. It needs a new rear bumper, never get round to buying one though! (and possibly a new grille as the retaining clips came off when I took it off!!) Hope you like it, it's not exactly retro, but nearly!

For a minute I thought 'Stanton' had got a Vauxhall instead of a VW! Welcome, probs on the cusp or retro looks wise, but cool gets my vote been looking at these with more interest recently.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Yeah, I'm not sure I should be posting this here really. I'm really in possession of it just to keep it immaculate for as long as possible, it is a 16 year old car!

the same station from MIG and mk3oc?
The rubstrip removal and colour coded handles are nice subtle mods.

Not retro..... yet!

Aye, that's me! Forgot about the Vectra handles (I prefer the old plastic ones TBH), and they didn't have rub strips from the factory!

Gorgeous wheels.
I had what was known as a 180iS in 4 door config years ago. Most fun on four wheels driven through the fron I have had todate.
That car only knew one speed..... fast.

That's real nice. And like you say, you don't see them at all really. Surely a tip for the future, these. I like it

Beautiful! Keep it away from the barry silly-billies who usually own these cars.

Is the 180iS the South African Opel version? I'm sure they're badged as Opel Kadetts over there. They're really kitted out and completely different spec-wise to the European Astras. www.mk3oc.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9002
