Well i have started to get the bits together for the engine swap for the manta
Then i was told about an 1800 coupe for sale in adtrader.
Hmmm - all the bits i need in one go - excellent!!!! ;D
So Myself and Tonycocacola went to collect
It had seen better days but i got it for £150!!!
so not going to argue
But the best bit is the journey home!!!!
We traveled maybe 2 Miles - 3 if we were lucky -
when i saw the steam appear from the front end
B*****D
After pulling open the bonnet one one side of the engine was a load of steam from a split water pipe
on the other side was flames
Luckily managed to blow the flames out and avert disaster and then attempt a roadside repair!!!
Oil was coming from rocker cover - all bolts loose
easy to fix
Water pipe had split before and somebody had done a bad repair with a bit plastic pipe - made it sort of good
The really funny part was watching Tonycocacola collecting water from puddles
in an TEXT lid and pouring it into a pop bottle and then into the radiator!!!!
God knows how much curse word is floating in the engine now
But Ahh well
Ps Didnt trust the temp repair so turned round and dumped it in works carpark - will collect later
