One question about the cat. In the second picture, is it stoned? Poor thing looks like its going to fall off/asleep!

Nice one m8, I've allways wanted one of those. I used to go to Italy alot I was a continental truck driver. I used to see them seemingly dumped all over the place. I once thought of going round buying them, leaving them in a yard I could of used in Milan, then ship them all back to the UK. I just kept thinking about it instead of doing it. One day on my way up to the Frejus Tunnel I overtook a UK transporter with bloody loads of em sideways. Your's is looking cool. Just one thing, when you are applying filler take the paint of first & try & get the skim as flat & smooth as you can with the speader & not too much hardener. Hope you don't mind, just trying to help.

Looks like a great project, best of luck with it. The plan to put an 1108 engine in sounds good. I'm pretty sure someone else on here has done that.

Brilliant - I take it you're going for the Abarth look. Are you opting for the 1108 for cost/keeping with Fiat reason? I only ask as a Fireblade engine would be lovely in there.

I'm wanting to keep the 1108 for the fiat thing, its been done and also it actually still sounds a bit aircooled.
I know a bike engine would be good but i do want to be able to have it semi quiet in the cabin, plus ive never had abnything rear engined.
The 1108 is from and uno and panda mine is from a panda 4x4. with a carb and electronic ignition.

If you want to keep the flat twin thing , howz about a bmw boxer motorbike lump? the newer versions make upto 120 BHP, with a suitable exhaust, it should sound pretty much the same as the original....

thanks man Right well since i just found my log in and username and this thread needs a serious update, i have photos up to about 2 months ago so i will up date you from the last post to sort of present. In the last post i was set on fitting a 1108 fiat panda engine and box in the car. well i didn't like the fact the engine was hanging out the back and also the fact the orginal gearbox was being used which was designed for 22bhp and taking 85. in september last year i was in the position of either selling the car or hauling it up to glasgow, as i wasn't working on it and it was taking up room in the maws garage, so my tits were getting nipped. I luckily found a lock up with power so the fiat ventured onto the road for the first time in 4 years. My mums new 500 and my daily in the back round Once i got it to glasgow i decided that starting the project being young and ignorant i had thought, wheels , arches get it running....done! Sadly being older and wiser i went looking for rust.....after spending ages getting the underseal off it, i found some, plus some very dodgy repairs. floor: Sill and another funny repair pannel So since last year, i've cut the floors out, the sills, the front, the panel behind that the fuel tanks sits up on, and the front arches. putting the bracing on floor out preping the inner sill starting to tub the front arches: Tweeking needed: I'll get more photos tomorrow night, most of the major welding bodywork is done, this little proect is coming on well in the last year as i can just walk round the corner so i can really spend the time on it, oh and the engine plans have changed a bit too....... it's still going to be in the back and have 4 cylinders, just this one is a bit closer related to the beetle
