The other half decided she needed a cheap to run second car, in the end i convinced her that a mk2 golf would have a lot of retro charm, whilst still being very practical and cheap to run and reliable enough for day to day use.
after initially looking for a big bumper 16v, we stumbled accross a small bumper 8v, that was just so right we had to have it, despite not be what we were lookking for at all

the first few pics are of it the day after purchase, with everything exactly as it was when bought.
later that day all the stickers were removed, and since then it's had the following,
clear side repeaters
8 ball aerial topper
i resprayed the boot as it had been done previously with no lacquer so was a flat, matt finish, and also repainted the pannel under the boot to fill some chips and scratches, and remove the hole and the remains of a long since removed 1980s, key operated alarm system.
