Hi all, just joined the site, and thought I would share a few pics of my pride and joy- a 2ltr 1989 mitsubishi widebody starion. it has had a few things done it has had 2 prevoius owners, with it just reading over 100,000 miles from new. body work is not 100% but is still reasonable. I had the engine rebiult last year with forged pistons, balancing shafts removed, metal headgasket, polished head, group a t34 turbo, aluminium flywheel, uprated clutch. also has a 3" straight thro stainless exhaust etc. it is currently having emerald engine management fitted, along with a multi point manifold( 4 evo 650cc injectors instead of the standard 2), escort cosworth throttle body and so on. heres a few pics; work in progress there is some damage to the near side rear quater , this was done when the car was stolen in sept last year- thieving bastads . got her back tho ;D well, hope you like it, and I look forward to meeting some of you soon, Dave

Oooof! I absolutely love the widebodys, ever since I saw Wickedbads' one Love them in white, and I also think those wheels can't be beaten, look so right You were lucky to get it back after it was nicked, what happened there? Did the fuzz pull them over before they did too much damage or...?

hi street, it was recovered after a week of it being away, thought i would nver see it again. the theives had some how stripped the threads on the near side rear hub, and the wheel came off at slow speed, went under the car, damaging the rear quater. it landed on its , and they just left it like it, running still when the police turnt up. ended up costing me around £500 in recovery fees, as i did not want her to be written off. What a fantastic car, almost identical to mine (apart from the spanking engine bay ;D). Good to see another starion on here and you got it in the best colour too. glad to see another starion club member too, they seem to be pretty thin on the ground DAN

i love it. the engine bay looks sweet as a chrome platted nut. when my saloon got pinched the police wanted to take it away for prints, even though my brother girlfriend found it. they charged me £105 just to get prints off it, i wasnt best pleased but it was fun watching my little baby out run my brothers racing puma round roundabouts chasing it around washington all night.lol so glad i got her back.

right, I want every ones views. do I strip the interior from the front seats back- leaving carpet etc in the front, but all of the interior out from the rear and fit a roll cage?
or try and fit a gage around the interior?
or go full on- whole interior out, bucket seats, cage, harnesses etc??
its going to be used mainly on the road, with the occasional trackday/drag strip but is not used as an every day car.

Wow! A Starion! They've been on my wish list since I read the buyers guide in 'Retro' magazine years ago. I even went to look at one at a car vendors just 2 miles away (it was the only one on autotrader in the entire country!). It was at the top of the price range but the interior had been molested and whilst pushing on the rear wing to check the shock bounce the metal under the spoiler crunched. I doubt the mechanicals were much cop either. Funnily enough the place has shut down now.
I'd love to have a ride in a properly built one.
