Here's a few pics of my new winter daily hack ... I picked it up a few weeks ago to use over the winter instead of the mk3 woody . It's had 2 owners from new and came with a stack of receipts and old MOT's plus 6 months tax and MOT ;D And best of all , it was FREE !!! ;D ;D ;D The day after I got it I got busy with the grinder and lost more coils than I've got left (it's sitting on the bumpstops on the front , not very comfy but it'll do for now) and then raided my shed for old bit's I had lying around from woody and my bug . So on went the old Desmo rack (mounted upside down so it sit's lower ) , Raydot searchlight (yes , it works ) , Notek bluespot spotlamp , headlight eyelids , window breezies , bullet mirrors , '?' badge on the back and maltese cross brake light , brown pool ball gear lever , nodding dog and a load of other bit's and pieces I had lying around. So in total I ain't spent a penny on it (except for putting petrol in it) and it's being used daily for work. The paint work ain't great , the lacquer is shagged and it's got a few rusty bit's but it's all genuine patina and not faked by stripping it and letting bit's rust Best of all , it's brown and the dashboard , door panels , parcel shelf and carpets are too Unfortunately the front seats have been changed at some point but in all I can't complain. His name's 'Hovis' cos he's a crusty brown bread van Sorry to waffle on , that's all I've gotta say ;D

Cheers guys There's a load more tat in the shed (and in my cupboard in work ! ) My mate has given me a set of Coupe S 5.5" steelies all resprayed in red for free so if I can get the tyres swapped over very cheaply then I'll chuck them on (thanks Kris ) Also , I managed to snap the gearlever linkage rod last week (it was terminally corroded by the look of it) so my mate Phil made a new one up and welded it on and then I fitted it using the pit in work. It's all good fun

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Mr GW... slightly off topic but are there any South Wales meets coming up of any sort? Oh and even more off topic... i've been racking my brains thinking of where i've heard your sig before... Prodge, Their Law, 'What we're dealing with here is a total lack of respect for the law'.... maybe? Sorry... on-topicness resumed! ;D

Hello Mr BigPerm , nice to see you on here There's a little icky bit of fablon on the rear polo badge just for old times sake ! lol I steam cleaned the car in work the other day and large areas of lacquer came off so I may try and do the rest for a flat brown effect (and maybe a bit of lace painting in the centre of the bonnet for a laugh ) Adam , I'll see if I can sort out a meet soon and keep you posted. The sig was from Smokey and the Bandit . I think the prodigy used it as well IIRC Cheers Dan
