Hi all, newbie to this site, and i'm absolutely love it! Some of you will know me from other vauxhall forums. Just thought i'd post a few pics of my 1985 Vauxhall nova GL. Now I know the nova has a bit of a bad rep, but there's more and more knocking around, that are breaking out of that mould. it's not the typical "chav" mobile, I hope you'll agree!I purchased it in january of this year looking like this! And originally had the intention of just warming up the 1.2 a little, and fitting a 5 speed box, but like all good intentions that went out of the window in a matter of days! I had this lying around which had been earmarked for another project that never got off the ground, so; A couple of days later it looked like this! A quick lick of paint saw the engine looking like this- And in the bay; All plumbed and wired; And then some rims! Toyed with some of these later, But decided to keep it on steels! looks much better imo! And just in cas you're wondering what it looks like inside?; (note; helpers optional!) (1.2 badge staying put just to annoy the young saxo drivers!) The interior is staying put, it's sooooo bad it's good! It's been completed since the day before the performance vauxhall show this year and has since had some more bits done. On a recent Total Vauxhall shoot it recorded a 0-60 of 6.99 and a top speed of 134mph! More pics coming soon!

Thanks guys, future plans include engine mods, i'd love a set of tb's but i'm not sure if they'd be in keeping with the feel of the car, so may go for 45's with mbe ignition. I really want a set of 13's for it too, but don't fancy a banded set, so some re-rimmed original 13's may well be on the cards. (that's if i can sort some decent spec brakes to fit behind them!) My daughter doesn't quite know what to make of it, but the missus reckon's it won't be long before she adds the word "nova" to her vocabulary!

That's absolutely brilliant! Love the interior especially, the way Vauxhall picked a colour and went for it everywhere is ace (my Astra is aaalll beige inside). Nice one for keeping the exterior as stock as possible for added WTF factor!

Saw a pic of this in Total Vauxhall and liked it. Seeing the pics above makes me jealous.
Loving the green and the cavalier (if I'm right) steels look the business, alloys would detract from the basic look.
IMO this is the perfect sleeper.
Top Work!
ps. Disclock and something removable in the electrics department to stop the traveller thieving scum is a must I'm afraid.

That is so spot on it's scary, right down to the little cardboard keyring.
I really liked the SR alloys you had on it, but do also agree the steels look the tits?
Is the XE a Coscast or a later one (it looks like a later VX one but because you've sprayed the rocker cover I'm not sure).

Really like that. The more undercover the better. My uncle had one back in the day in the same colour. It had some 'graphics' and 'chrome' wheel arch trims!
More pics please

Is the XE a Coscast or a later one (it looks like a later VX one but because you've sprayed the rocker cover I'm not sure). Hi it's a coscast late spec xe. Tbh i wouldn't have bothered with a gm one from experience. The sr alloys are actually 13" unlike the later 14" Ones on gte's/gsi's. They were optional extras too! Mark don't worry it's no longer on the stock suspension or brakes! It has cav 256 vented, drilled and grooved discs up front, with ebc pads (soon to be binned they're curse word!), braided hoses, and re-built drums at the rear. Suspension is bilstein b8's with coilsprings '89 custom springs. The wheels are early mk2 cav dunlop steels, although as i've said i'm reallly hankering after a set of widened 13" swing style steelies. The shell is actually solid, but the rear arches are starting to show the signs of scabs forming, and the previous owner has painted various bits with tins. could do with a full hit tbh. I have some more photos somewhere, i'll try and add them later.
