My mate fetched this car from Paignton in January time. That's a 500 mile round trip from here. He ran it for about 3 months, then found out his other half was pregnant and needed to sell it. Before he'd had time to think he'd named his price and I'd said I'll have it. He was a bit upset. ;D £300 later and it was mine.
It's an 827 which are mostly autos, this isn't it's manual. The difference is noticable.
It's been a semi daily car since I started using it in July, so I'm only just starting to do the serious stuff I have planned.
This was it when I got it.
I've lowered the front since, see first pic. Not found the time to do the rear yet. Need to dig out the new Koni's I have buried in the shed.
The standard seats are cloth in this spec and they were beige which I hate. My mate had already saved me a job and swapped the dash for a grey one along with some other bits.
It now has Recaros taken from a MK2 800 Vitesse. I've had these in numerous cars to date.
Pic of the original wheel etc.
Now fitted with my MOMO race steering wheel and gear knob. They make the car feel so much more fun. For a big car they help a lot.
Another simple job I did a few weeks back was to de-badge the rear. Looks much cleaner, keeps people guessing when they see it. I like the stealth look. They just see the Rover badge and laugh mostly. ;D
It has a stainless exhaust which you'll notice. The tow bar will be coming off soon, honest.
Other not so obvious stuff is that the rear is stripped out behind the front seats. Now that the car isn't in daily use I plan to gut the interior of anything not essential.
I've recently bought a set of powerflex bushes for the front, I also have some thicker roll bars for front and rear fitted to late model Vitesse's.
Something I fancy doing is using polycarbonate windows, for the sides at least anyway. Anyone know anything about them.
Fancy some fibreglass panels as well and and .......
