No under the bonnet pics as its a bit messy under there. she doesn't show her age on the outside but under the bonnet it definetly shows its age However it is totally reliable and powerful and when it comes off the road for the winter is getting the engine bay blasted and resprayed. also i am going to do a t3 turbo conversion on it to boost power to around 300bhp, should be fun ;D DAN

Cheers everybody for the good comments. It took me ages to find one in as good a condition as possible eventually found her for sale in a mitsi dealer in sunderland. She wasn't perfect though, needed a good service, tune and the radiator was knackered as well. However i'm glad i got her as i've yet to see another on my journeys. Its a bit of a shame that they aren't regarded as classics yet and it seems nobody is particularly interested in trying to save them from rotting away (japanese metal ;D), although I'm sure their time wil come eventually.

Mmmm, always had a mega-super-uber soft spot for Stazza's. Widebody's especially ftw! The Starion's in general are starting to fetch a decent amount of coinage over here too, finally people are switching on to 80's boxy turboness!!!

I was seriously considering buying one of these a couple of years ago. A brief search on autotrader even found one for sale, the only one, 2 miles away. It was top money and I was skint. However it was also a rusty dog with suspect mechanicals hiding under a crunchy bodyshell.
I still get the odd urge now, I can't remember ever seeing another one in the flesh other than the one I looked at.

Yeh there are quite alot of dogs about, my advice is if interested shop carefully and try to find as good an example as possible (same with any car really) Rust is the major kiler of these cars it gets everywhere especially the rear pocketts and behind the bodykit along the sills. underside of sills are vulnerable and the back brakes sometimes can seize. The engines are extremely strong and if serviced regularly are nigh on bullet proof. Servicing parts are available but bodywork and trim is scarce. I really cant recommend one of these enough a seriously rapid rwd bag of fun ;D
