This is my latest project, a 1989 Skoda Estelle 120L5 (Hell5). I originally owned this car in 2003, then sold it to a mate of mine, who gave it a thorough check over etc before we took it over the the Czech Republic in 2004. We drove it all the way there and back, covering 1600 miles in just over a week, 3 up plus luggage. My mate then sold it a few months later to another mate who owned it for about 18 months before he sold it back, then it got sold on again, before coming back to me. When I originally owned it, it was totally standard, but now it has a 136 (1300cc) engine out of an Endurance rally car. This is fully lightened and balanced, and as far as I know, has some sort of cam in it as well, lets say it goes very well. Here's a few pics.       As you can see from the pics, it has a solid shell, but is in desperate need of a respray. My plans are to respray in white and have as a rally replica to advertise my rally photography. Quick update....
now have a rollcage and motorsport mirrors ready to fit, might paint the roll cage before i fit it though.

It'll look great with the rally look I think. I've got the matchbox model of this somewhere... Are you going for exact replica decals or incorporating something like your sig image into it? Also, have you seen an Octavia (modern version) around with rally style graphics on it? I've seen it in Lincoln a couple of times, i'll get a snap if I can. EDIT: Also again, thought i recognised the Hell5 name, found this in the Retro Rides mag readers rides Sept 06 edition (the one with nightmares Kadett on the cover incidentally);   |

Hi Mike, i've not seen the Octavia, but i've heard about it, its 1 of the limited edition WRC 1's and belongs to someone at Hortons, the Skoda dealer in Lincoln.
The feature in readers rides in Retro Cars was when my mate Phil (Northern_Munkie on here) owned it, there is also a couple of pics there of when we took it back to the factory in CZ
The decals will be similar to the car in the pic but will incorporate something similar to my sig as well, my sig is based on the 70's/80's dealer stickers anyway

re: the rally octavia, if we're thinking of the same one , it lives at Grey Gables Skoda in Witney,Oxford, my old man has brought it home a couple of times, in fact went to a footie game in Burnham in it last season and got alot of looks
Sod, i had loads of pictures of it sitting outside my house on my old pc!

Nah paint it black, slam it down, deep dish on back, nice pots on front, shoehorn a nice ford v6 in front, all power to back and have a drift machine Advertising while going sideways ftw. |

Am i right in thinking that Octavia is actually illegal?
I thought you were not allowed to display race numbers etc on cars whilst on the road
